Dewy/glowy recommendations

Hey! Im fairly new to the beauty world and I’m looking for some recommendations for makeup. My skin is more on the dry side and I want products for a more glowy, dewy base makeup look. I have heard that glow recipe products are good for that kind of look, and I might purchase some. Also, I’m debating on purchasing the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter because I love the way it looks on the skin but it is pricey so I want to make sure it would be a good choice. Im currently using the Tarte shape tape concealer and I love it but if there was any other recommendations you guys have for a dewy glowly look but also good coverage concealer then I would love to hear. Let me know what you think would work. Thanks!

Re: Dewy/glowy recommendations

For a glowy, dewy base makeup look, Glow Recipe products are indeed a great choice. As for the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, it's known for giving a beautiful finish, but considering the price, you may want to try a sample first to see if it suits your needs.  Happy experimenting and enjoy your makeup journey! 😊

Re: Dewy/glowy recommendations

I agree, the Tarte concealer is a little heavy. Try a BB/CC cream instead. Honestly, the vibe of dewy skincare is very perfected natural skin + light makeup (kind of Asian-style softer looks/Glossier). I feel like some good actives including niacinamide might be good.

Paula's Choice has been a consistently performing choice for me in the past. A good AHA would be good; Paula's Choice is usually well tolerated by beginners. I really like Ren's AHA tho. TBH, AHA makes the largest difference for dewy looks. That or niacinamide. Glow recipe, the couple products I've tried, haven't amazed me, especially at the price point. I've used a lot of affordable stuff and a good amount of "expensive" stuff.

IDK about the foundation, but I do like the flawless filter spray. It's def compatible with the dewy/glass skin look. The Armani Silk Foundation is good, but kind of overhyped in my opinion. It's definitely more lifelike than other foundations but it's not a no-make-up make-up look. I'll sometimes use it on top of other products for additional coverage (like only in my problem areas). Mix it with a facial oil or moisturizer (I use a ceramide toner).

If you have blotchy, red skin, try using a cicapair treatment. The green will slightly neutralize your red undertones.

TLDR, invest in some good skin care and some sunscreen first. Buying a high quality foundation is probably more important on the hierarchy of makeup, but I think skincare is more important.

I also have dry skin and some products that work for me are:

1) Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint (which has has skincare benefits and SPF)
2) Huda beauty FauxFilter Luminous Matte Buildable Coverage Crease Proof Concealer (high coverage)

Re: Dewy/glowy recommendations

I have 5 good recommendations for the perfect dewy look!
1) Merit Instant Glow Serum

2) ABH Dewy Set (don’t mind the glitter on the bottle, there is not glitter in the spray)

3) CT Magic Cream

4) A hydrating toner (I prefer Keihl’s ultra facial)

5) Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk
