Eye lash enhancement

I googled and researched using castor oil for lash growth, bought organic castor oil put some in a jar and used it on my eyelashes at the base. I have had some incidents with this method with eye swelling or stars and eye irritation. I’m sanitary so I don’t know why. The castor oil seems to keep my eyelashes from falling out the next day but is there any other method suggestions because I’m not believing the castor oil hype. Any suggestions?
