Why is there no warning that points expire?

There is FINALLY something worth redeeming my points on and poof they're gone, without notice. The system failed to register that I chose the points for my birthday gift, so I've been double screwed this year. But now I don't feel tethered to Sephora anymore!

@audyer14 @1apple1day  Points don’t expire as long as you have made a purchase or redeemed a reward or free birthday gift within the last year.  It looks like your private messages are currently turned off. Please send me a private message with your registered email address or you can contact Sephora privately through Facebook, X or Instagram.

Omgosh my points are GONE too!! I never got a notification or anything. I had 1300 points that I’ve been saving!! So sad!!!
