Warning/ denied returns

I ALWAYS carry my receipts with me when I make returns! I never return an item without it’s receipt. And I’ve only returned things 3 times throughout the year. So today I returned a glam glow and a moisturizer I purchased online with RECEIPT and the rep told me I was going to be denied future returns inside JCPENNY and that it’s a warning for the big Sephora stores.. when I got home I checked the receipt and she put that I did a return with no receipt!!!! So now I’m confused because I clearly gave her my receipt and now I’m denied future returns. So upsetting. She even printed another receipt stating about future non-receipted returns may be declined when I clearly gave her a receipt.

I did a return/exchange today at Sephora with my receipt and the new receipt shows the return was without receipt. Do I need to worry about being denied in the future? To top it off they did not give me the 15% on my new stuff so I had to call and talk to the manager (who was awesome and is going to take care of it). I didn’t realize returns were flagged like this, particularly when you have the receipt!

I’ve been told that regular Sephora online orders and freestanding Sephora store returns cannot be returned at a Sephora inside JCP like a regular return. Their systems aren’t compatible and they have to run it as “no receipt.” I always return my online and freestanding Sephora stuff to a regular Sephora store. I only return Sephora inside JCP if I purchased it from the JCP website or a Sephora inside JCP store. It sucks but I do it to be on the safe side.

I just returned a Pat McGrath palette yesterday (it was a replacement) to a Sephora Jc penny. Not even my freestanding Sephora which is 1 hour away sells pat. the only issue I ran into was the products that are online only, & that was one time. I don't make alot of returns though.

The same thing happened to me when I returned products to a Sephora inside a JC Penny store. The cashier notified me before going through with it, but she said it very fast and briefly, so I didn't completely understand that I would receive a warning. If I had known, I wouldn't have gone through with the return. But oh wells.

Definitely call sephora and explain or go back to the store and speak to the person and manager too

I am sorry to hear of this. Right after I gave my receipt, the Rep got a call in the back and took it while still in process with me and when she came out she said I never gave my receipt to her. I showed a photo of the receipt I took and she apologized and said maybe she lost it when taking the call and had no issues with the return, thanks to the photo I took. Now I take photos of my receipts and delete them after I'm sure of keeping the items. Hope this helps in the future.

So freestanding stores and JCP stores both process receipts from one another differently because they don’t really count as receipts as it’s two different computer systems/stores. I would call the hotline on the decline slip and explain what happened as well as talk to a manager at the JCP store as there is a way freestanding and online receipts should be processed so it doesn’t count against you.

Did you giver her your ID? That lets you know that they most likely will be processing the return as "no receipt".

oday, I had a horrible experience at Sephora today. I went to exchange products that were gifted without a receipt. I asked the manager if I could exchange and use for store credit. I was told yes. 

My purchase was denied and then I was sent on a wild goose chase with no resolve. 

I was directed to RAR, RAR told me to write and call Sephora when I called them they said there was nothing they could do. 

Makes no sense considering I am a customer and always buy my perfume and all skin and make-up products there. 

 So annoying having things I can not use.
