Sephora erases comments?

Have any of you realized that Sephora filters comments ? I suffered from a bad chemical burn from using Knockout toner by Tarte on my face. Several months later, i am still scarred. I submitted my review two times and it never happened ... As it happened to any of you?

Re: Sephora erases comments?

Hi @Alexandraleila

I'm sorry to hear that! I'll take a look at your reviews then send you a private message with more information!

Always,
Danee

Re: Sephora erases comments?

@Alexandraleila, so sorry to hear about the over exfoliation, thats unfortunate. I think there was a similar issue on the boards a little while ago. If you look at the guidelines, says that medical conditions can't be mentioned. https://www.sephora.com/ca/en/beauty/ratings-reviews?om_mmc=oth-bt-richlinks-2013

So maybe if you used over exfoliation instead of burned it might stay up? That's my guess. Good luck!! I hope your skin is healing!!

Re: Sephora erases comments?

@Alexandraleila @I know a couple times my reviews good or bad didn’t post and I just resubmitted them with no issues.

Re: Sephora erases comments?

I'm not sure if Sephora erases negative reviews per se, as it never happened to me, but I do recall one time where I submitted a review twice and it never posted. I thought about it and considered maybe it was bc I was comparing the product's performance with another brand's product. So I went to submit it once more, but this time removing the other brand's name and it posted successfully. Maybe you are facing a similar issue? @Alexandraleila @tg1973

Sephora erases comments?

Definitely. Some of my negative reviews have been posted, but others never were. I used a hair product that completely stripped week old color out of my hair despite being advertised as color safe, never posted. I also HATE the it Cosmetics CC cream which left horrible grey tint on my face despite having used products that cost half as much without having this problem, never published. I don't know if they filter for some brands but not others, but I've learned to assume that there are at least twice as many negative reviews for any given product than we're actually seeing. Especially having spent time on Reddit skincare and makeup boards, enough people complain about their negative reviews being censored to know that it's not the occasional exception, it's a regular occurrence.

Objet : Sephora erases comments?

Someone from Sephora wrote to me, it’s official they refused to publish my reviews ( I wrote two thinking the first one didn’t work) as they say it didn’t respect their guidelines... pretty scary to know that people with very bad experience with products can’t publish review..

I've never been given a reason.

I've never been given a reason.

Re: Objet : Sephora erases comments?

They didn't not let you write a bad review, @Alexandraleila, your review violated their Terms. I don't know if you were given a specific reason why, but if so, you can update your review to take out that info. If not, I guessed up above what it might be, for example (mentioning a medical condition). You can try writing another review that doesn't violate the terms of service?

@Alexandraleila

That's terrible!  So sorry for your experience 😔

It's great you were able to post about it here tho!
