Retail Value Question

Can you explain how the Tarte “Treasure Chest” set is valued at $433?  Even using market prices for items separately that seems inflated. Item 1994649. How are those numbers derived?

The value of an item or set is determined by the manufacturer's suggested retail price, the current market, and packaging. I hope this helps!

That makes sense and what I would expect from a theoretical perspective but that price tag is not realistic. Looking at any current market prices etc, it still seems inflated to make shoppers think they are getting a better bargain than they are.
