Payment Error

Every time I attempt to checkout online using my Sephora Visa card, I receive an error stating, “Payment error - your payment could not be processed. Please verify that your card number, expiration date and cvn are correct and that your billing address matches what the bank has on file. We have reversed any pending charges to your account.”. I have double and triple checked to confirm all addresses are correct and match and that all other information is correct. This card has worked fine as recently as December and I don’t see any locks or alerts on the card itself. I’ve also tried placing the order through the Sephora iPhone mobile app and on the website with multiple desktop PC’s and different web browsers.

So since I’ve seen quite a lot of people having this same problem, but no posted resolution, I wanted to come back and share what happened in my case. 

The DM said the card was being declined and to contact comenity directly. I did so and apparently my Sephora visa was frozen according to the representative. Why it was frozen, I still have no idea even though I asked twice. I could not understand them as these call centers are farmed offshore to the lowest bidder.  

Anyhow, my card is not frozen anymore but the $15 Sephora Credit Card Reward has magically disappeared and imputing the code manually says it’s already been used (I’d love to know on what). 

I’m so disgusted by this (and previous unmentioned issues with comenity/Sephora visa) that I’m done. It’s absolutely not worth the effort, but I genuinely hope Sephora takes these issues more seriously in the future so they don’t lose more customers.
