Horrendous Customer Service

Today, I visited the Market Mall Sephora location in Calgary. Usually, the service I receive there is excellent and leaves me wanting more makeup to feel my eternal hunger for new products, however, today was an exception.

 

 

I wanted a new foundation, so I required some assistance in matching my shade (I ended up purchasing the FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundationwhich I am now obsessed with). When I asked for a beauty advisor to help me, she sighed (very audibly) and was overall extremely unwilling to help me. 

 

When she asked if I had tried the product before, I told her that I did, but the shade that my sample was in was far too yellow for my skin. She then, loudly, exclaimed, "Then why didn't you say something?!" I felt extremely embarrassed and only managed to shrug in response.

 

After this, I told her that I wanted to purchase the product. She rolled her eyes and glanced over at the booth as she seemed to monotonously say, "Sorry but the 120 shade is very popular so unfortunately it's out of stock". A split second after this, she caught eye of two of her friends and forgot about my issue altogether. 

 

I was visibly upset as I muttered to my mum how I'd have to purchase my shade online. I muttered the number just as another employee who was restocking the booth overheard me and handed me my shade promptly. I asked her if it was the last one left, and she responded that were was plenty left in stock. I was shocked, to say the least.

 

After this, I had a question about beautyblenders and their effectiveness. Claire was very informative and managed to get me feeling a lot better about the whole experience. While the embarrassing aftershocks still lingered, I felt a little bit more comforted. 

 

In sum, I did not expect this terrible of service from Sephora's beauty advisors. This was very disappointing as my feelings were hurt. I was also greatly disappointed because the problematic beauty advisor seemed as though she was waiting for her lunch break, and I was just some obstacle in her way. I was greatly disappointed with this service, as I did not anticipate this when I woke up in the morning.
