Gift Card Scratched Off

Has anyone been able to use a gift card missing digits from the pin and 16 digit number? I went to use my gift card at a Sephora store and the cashier pushed too hard and scratched off the numbers. She told me to contact customer service and they’re saying they can’t do anything about it without having all of the digits on the card. Extremely upsetting because money was wasted and it wasn’t my fault that this happened. Are there any tricks to still use it? The card wouldn’t scan either.
