Donation Request

       I want to start by saying thank you for taking the time to read my request. I am a high school volleyball coach and am looking to provide information to you about our Breast Cancer Fundraiser in October and     ask for your help as a sponsor. 
       We are teaming up with a neighboring high school on October 10th, 2024 to raise as much money and awareness as possible within the community by hosting a Pink Out Volleyball Game – or otherwise known as a Dig Pink Game. As a team we have chosen to donate to VCU Massey Cancer Center in Downtown Richmond, VA that currently treats patients in our direct and surrounding communities – many of which have suffered or know someone who has suffered directly from Breast Cancer. The reason this is so important to us is: there is an average of 310,720 NEW cases of invasive breast cancer that gets diagnosed in women every single year just in the USA. Globally, that number reaches 2.3 million. Statistically speaking, every single woman in the USA today has an 8% chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. This means 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer – at least 5 people on our team are likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime.  
            As a sponsor your involvement would be to donate a “prize” that could be raffled off during our fundraiser. Anything provided would be a huge help in obtaining our goal and majorly appreciated rather it be a small gift basket, business merchandise, gift-card or small service, etc. In return, we would be able to provide free advertisement during and before our fundraiser by advertising your business information on a banner hung in our gym as well as a sign next to your donation with business cards or pamphlets for people to take while entering to win. We also plan to mention your sponsorship when we submit our story to the local news station. For fundraising breakdown of the costs, we are donating 50% of proceeds to VCU Massey Cancer Center and the other 50% raised will go directly back to our program to help purchase new volleyball equipment, volleyballs, conditioning equipment, uniforms and to help develop our program further for new and existing athletes.
