Cancelled Order but points used to redeem rewards



I placed an order earlier and noticed that I forgot to add something, so I tried to check around to see if I can change it, but I can only do cancel. So I went with that and hoping to re-order it with a change. I had redeemed 2500 points for a $100 rouge reward and used it in this order.


So far the points have not been refunded to my account or I can use the $100 rewards, and customer support saying that I won’t be able to get the points back? 


Can I get some advice on what to do in this case? This is really sad because if only I know this fact that before I cancel, I literally spend 2,500 points (which is a significant amount) for NOTHING at all?
