Can't redeem my birthday gift online

I added the gift I wanted to receive to my cart but when I choose 'Checkout shipped items'. It keeps saying 'Merchandise, excluding gift cards and eGift certificates, must be included in your order to qualify for your Birthday gift.'. I am not sure what this means. Please help.

This happened to me as well even with stuff in my basket online. Go to your VIP or VIB profile page and then add birthday gift to basket from there.

@chaunghi You would need to add an item to your basket before adding the birthday gift.

Should we need to purchase anything to claim the birthday gift?

@sounith no purchase is necessary to redeem your birthday gift in store! To redeem online, it must be included with a merchandise order.
