frizzy hair because of hormones

Ever since I started my period for the first time I've noticed a major change in my hair. It has become more frizzier. I don't know what to do. I've already been to a curly hair specialist, and she gave me products to try and it's been fine but I don't know when my hair will stop frizzing. Are there any hair product recommendations?

Re: frizzy hair because of hormones

@Lizzie2420 I've posted in the past that frizz is my sworn enemy.  I am fortunate to have found a routine that works for me. (FYI: I flat iron my hair, so we may have some differences.)

Shampoo: I am a convert to sulfate-free shampoos.  I love Pureology Hydrate Shampoo for Dry, Color-Treated Hair .

Conditioner: Use a hydrating conditioner.  I'm on my second bottle of Redken Heavy Cream Super Treatment and really like it.  Before that I used Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm for years.

Styling products: I'm a firm believer that silicones help with frizz fighting.  I've been using Paul Mitchell Super Skinner Serum for years.  I also really like It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product.

Hair oils: A great secret weapon.  You can use them in with your styling products, but I like ti use it on dry hair.  I'm a little betwixt and between on them right now, as I've been having sensitivity to the smells.  Bumble and bumble Mini Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil 0.85 oz/ 25 mL is a popular one.  (It stopped working for me after a year, though.)  I use a discontinued one by Matrix.  I've only ever had two hair oils I didn't like (Living Proof Nourishing Oil - I think it's been discontinued; and ALTERNA Haircare CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Smoothing Anti-Frizz Nourishing Oil ).  So, my guess is that you should be able to find one you like.

Anti-frizz spray: I use Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield and while it's not a miracle-worker, it does help.  I spray it on before I leave the house.

Hair masks: I'm lazy when it comes to this, but they're worth looking into.

Whenever I leave the house, I always wear a hoodie.  This helps me not get that immediate frizz when you first walk out the door of your house.  I highly recommend it.

God luck!  🙂  Let us know how it goes!
