Curly hair question

Does anyone else’s hair have like a s-shaped curl pattern at the top their head but the lower it goes the curlier it gets. If anyone’s hair also like this, do you know how to make it like curl from the top of your head or is that just my natural curl pattern(I don’t know how to explain it, I’ll put pictures below). I’ve tried finger coils, it looks nice most of the time, but it takes awhile since I have thick hair and I don’t have enough time to do the whole process of finger coiling every couple of days. By the way, at the moment I use miellé leave in conditioner, curl sculpting custard, and curl defining mousse for styling. For washing I use l.u.s shampoo and conditioner and also the rosemary mint strengthening masque once a week. Any advice or recommendations? Here are some photos of how my hair looks in general, there is also how my hair looked finger coiled

Re: Curly hair question

From what I can tell, your hair is very long. I think the weight of your hair is simply pulling out the curl near the roots. I think you’d really benefit from having your hair layered throughout to get some of the weight off the top and allow those curls to bounce back up. Look for a stylist who’s been trained in doing Deva cuts. They will cut your hair while it’s dry so it won’t be cut too short and so the various curl patterns will blend together to make the cut look even.

Re: Curly hair question

Hi! It is probably your curl pattern, it can be different in all different parts of your head. Mine has a combo of S curls and ringlets and to help even it out I twirl big chunks with product in it and let it dry, then separate later. It’s less time consuming but helps with uniformity. Curly cuts also have helped me keep them blended more.

Re: Curly hair question

Oh okay thank you! I’ve had a couple of curly cuts the first few times they turned out well, but then the place changed and the next time I got a haircut from the place it didn’t turn out that good. I’m in need of a haircut so I’m looking for a new place that specializes in curly hair.
