Can wavy hair benefit for products marketed for coils?

I have wavy hair that is thick, dry and frizz prone.  I've been seeing more and more products marketed for coils.  I'm interested in some of these (particularly hair masks, and some conditioners) but I'm concerned that they might be too heavy.  What does BIC think?  Is it just marketing or what?

 

I'm usually reluctant to try new hair products because it takes me so long to wash, dry and flat iron my hair.  If I try something new and it doesn't work out, then I've wasted my time with only a bad hair week to show for it.
