Rose inc tinted serum any hit and misses and suggestion on applying this ?

Hi, i have just purchased the rose inc tinted serum and i loved it! But i noticed that sometimes it works great and sometimes they can sink in my open pores. 
Can anyone share their experience of using this and your skin prep and spf ?

for reference i have visible pores on my cheeks and I have combination skin or maybe oily dehydrated skin ? My problem is sometimes it’s not the easiest to blend on my cheeks and nose. Especially on certain spf and skincare combination
