Hit My 40’s…Now what is Happening to My Skin?

Hi there! 

I am new to the community. I am (or thought I was) a very experienced makeup person. I had easy going combo skin that’s been able to make mostly any kind of makeup work. Then, I hit my 40’s and wow! It’s been downhill since. I feel like I get mismatched constantly and I get one good thing, but then it just doesn’t work the same. I can’t find a good light foundation that is not oily and gives a super naked and natural look. I have tried everything to get that look and I can’t find the right mixture of products. Anyone above 40 years old that can help me  find some good products and give some tips please let me know:) I would be so grateful!

I feel you on the change as you hit 40. I hit 40 2 years ago and noticed changes as well. As with the wrong shade match, have you done a skin scan in your local Sephora? Also what products are you currently using and your skin type?

Bodies change @BABEBEAUT .  Skin tends to get drier and lose elasticity as we age, but there's also your health status, environment, stress levels, genetics/hormones and I'm sure other things are at play.  You can be a veteran and still have to adapt, so I fully hear you on the struggle.

Gentle tends to be better, but that can also vary from person to person.  As someone with hormonal acne that has enbed and flowed through some personal changes, I don't mess with actives as much.  My main things of late are The Ordinary Aloe 2% + NAG 2% Solution 1 oz / 30 ml , a mixsoon bifida mask pack (k beauty), The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Oil Control Serum and Dior',s previous version of on/off Mousse.

I could definitely tag products add have tagged some, but what have you tried?
