Foundations shades and seasons?

So I am pretty new to wearing medium to full coverage foundation and new to makeup in general. Last summer I was using a Tarte BB tinted moisturizer, light-medium for beige undertones. For a while it was perfect, it blended well, matched and felt good wearing it. When it got to be fall, It started looking orange and I was having none of that. So I tried a powder, a liquid, and finally fell in love with the stick from MUFE and the hydrating one from Bare minerals. And just sort of found myself doing full coverage because those products really did that well for me.. Now summer is here in AZ, and I’m getting more sun. And the BB cream was great for the pool, wearing full coverage stick foundation with translucent powder doesn’t seem wise, I like to swim. I understand that seasons are going to change some of my products, what I am wondering is how others experience this? What are some great summer products for people who are active too?
