Foundation match

I bought a foundation thinking it would match me but it didn't. I threw out the packaging when I was finally going to use it it didn't match my skin tone. What would you suggest?

Re: Foundation match

@Clau93 If it’s just a tiny bit off from your natural skin tone, try speaking with one of their more seasoned makeup artists about mixing it with another shade to create something that will match you perfectly. It will take a bit of trial and error but I’ve seen it done before.

Re: Foundation match

If you are wondering about if you can return it without having the box, i suggest you call customer service or going to your Sephora and explain to them and see what they say.

They cant re-sell it and so im not sure about that specific part of the return policy (if you need the box), maybe other people know.

Re: Foundation match

I guess it depends by how much it doesn’t match your skin tone. Is it too light? Too dark? Could you use it in the summer or winter depending how your skin changes throughout the year?

You could turn it more into a tinted moisturizer by cutting it with a moisturizer.

You could mix it with a colour corrector liquid/cream to tone down the colours you don’t want (e.g., if the foundation is too pink, you can add green colour corrector to tone down the red in the foundation).

Hope this helps!

Re: Foundation match

I have done that any times before! i suggest mixing in a foundation that is the opposite of what you received. If that's not something you'd like then add contour or concealer (more than usual) then again, if it's to much of a hassle it would make a good gift for someone that is that shade.
