Color IQ for Fenty 170

Hi all! I recently went into Sephora to get my color iq so I could try out the Fenty foundation. It said I was 1R06, and it turns out I actually needed a shade or two lighter than what I was matched with. The lighter color was perfect, sadly the foundation just didn’t work with my fine lines and combo skin. Now I’m trying to figure out what my color iq would be, using Fenty 170as my color match...And I can’t figure it out lol. I feel a little dumb here! I’d like to browse foundation options using the correct IQ. I’ve explored different places trying to find it on the website and can’t find what I’m looking for.  Can anyone guide me?

Re: Color IQ for Fenty 170

Ack! Thank you! This is exactly what I was trying to do...I knew it would be a simple answer haha

Re: Color IQ for Fenty 170

I just realized I may have misunderstood your question.  If you search "color iq" in the search bar it will allow you to enter the brand/product/shade of a foundation you have already found that matches your skin tone.  You can get your accurate color iq shade that way and disregard the "match" Sephora gave you.

Re: Color IQ for Fenty 170

Have you tried other foundations with the 1R06 that you were matched with?  I was "matched" awhile back and in the store the shade they chose looked great.  I went to the J. Crew next door after though and almost shrieked when I looked in the mirror!  That shade was at least 2 shades too dark and WAY too yellow.  Take your "match" with a grain of salt.

That aside, I have heard that Fenty foundation oxidizes and most people find they need to go a shade or 2 lighter in that brand.  The shade that "matches" starts out looking great but then a bit later...  not so much.

I would go back in and get a couple of samples using your "match".  If they're both too dark I'd drop a couple shades and try that and then use the shade that works as your brand/product/shade as a Color IQ guide.
