BEST FOUNDATIONS FOR LGHT TO MEDIUM OLIVE UNDERTONE

Hi beauties! I am struggling to find a good foundation match for me, I have light to medium skin tone with olive undertone and mix to oily skin type. If you have any recs I would love to hear them. Thanks!

Re: BEST FOUNDATIONS FOR LGHT TO MEDIUM OLIVE UNDERTONE

@Totalmentedani  As I have the same struggle, with cool undertones, I can't recommend the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation enough.

Shade 002 is perfect for me when I'm not tan.  The next two darker shades would be 012 and 013.  Their direct site sells samples of their foundations (they have two different types,) so you could try several for $20 or less.  I know that's a lot for samples, but it sure beats buying foundation after foundation and not finding a good match.

Re: BEST FOUNDATIONS FOR LGHT TO MEDIUM OLIVE UNDERTONE

Do yourself a favor and try Beautyblender Bounce Skin Tint in Light 4, Immediately. Just trust me and swatch it. Most perfect olive shade. I have been singing its praises on Reddit and a lot of gals in the olive skin group are equally as blown away.

Ever since L'ancome Skin Feels Good discontinued their Blonde Pecan in 015N (it was my light olive holy grail for many years, and I am still grieving the loss), Bounce Skin Tint is literally the only other thing I can put on my face. Best of all, it's buildable, and I would say more of a foundation than a Tint but feels exactly like your skin/like wearing nothing. It is what I would describe as a semi-matte, and I don't really even need to set it with powder, it just gives you a healthy glow that isn't too too glowy and looks like your skin but porcelain-doll perfect.

I am so worried about them discontinuing this shade that I've stocked up direct from Beautyblender and bought 3 bottles already. I really hope Sephora continues to stock this forever, because there is barely anything on the market that matches my skin AND has the best ever formula that looks and feels amazing.

If it works for you, I strongly urge you to spread the word and talk about it. Since they keep discontinuing the best olive skin products over and over again, I've decided to be more outspoken and advocate for good products. I have a feeling influencers leaving positive reviews on sub-par products are really ruining the market and burying the actually amazing products, that seem to just get discontinued no matter how much I devote myself to buying and supporting them.

I think going into a store and getting someone to help shade match you in brands you'd like to try would be helpful, or try getting your skin scan at Sephora. I did it and now it shows me my match right on the app to different foundations and concealers. (Not all of of them but a fair bit of them.) @Totalmentedani

Re: BEST FOUNDATIONS FOR LGHT TO MEDIUM OLIVE UNDERTONE

Unfortunately the shade match in Sephora stores and even the digital one literally never works for light olive skintones. It matches me with terrible orangey stuff that is nowhere near my skin color. One of the reasons for this is that our tones are gravely misrepresented in the beauty industry. Most of us have to blind buy based on Reddit suggestions, and that is actually more of an accurate science than shade matching on Sephora, even in-store.
