Hey there @Sophiapant4 !Laura Mercier's Flawless Fusion foundation is one of my top 3 foundations! I have oily skin and it works amazing at keeping my oil controlled without being TOO matte or cakey. If you have combo skin, then I think this foundation will work for you. I highly recommend you give it a shot

@unclesam I completely agree with @PenelopeBT!  I love the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask! <3  I have dehydrated combination skin but it leans dry as the weather gets cooler and and can get really dry in the winter. The water sleeping mask really saved my skin last winter - no dry patches or flakes, which is a new and welcomed change for my skin. I keep a jar of the water sleeping mask on my nightstand - makes it easy peasy for me to apply before calling it a night.

I have sensitive / combo skin and can relate with the acne issues. I am always searching for some good moisturizers that fit my picky skin's needs. I heavily recommend using a different moisturizer for the day / night. I use the BOSCIA - Cactus Water Moisturizer for the day as it provides some lightweight moisture that won't leave any residue or greasiness on the skin. I use the JOSIE MARAN - Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter at night as it is a heavier cream that will restore the skin and reduce the amount of moisturizer that I need to use in the morning (I like the lightweight feeling on my skin during the day).  Another thing I would recommend is using a facial oil. Oils will help you balance your skin (for the acne) as well as provide an extra, deeper layer of hydration to the skin. I love the HERBIVORE - Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil, it is AMAZING for bringing balance to the skin. Or you can spring for some oils that also target acne such as the SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil (it has salicylic acid).  Another great product for acne is the DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum. It is 12% BHA / AHA and will really help to resurface the skin, fight acne and reduce acne scars. (USE SPF THE MORNING AFTER THIS).  And although some of these products are a bit pricey, they will last you a loonnnggg time (oils can go for months and months as you only use 1-2 drops at a time) and the Night Serum is only recommended to be used once every 2-3 nights. (The serum won't dry you out). I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Hi @Shelly31,   The MURAD - Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum, is a great product for dark spots. It really evens out your skin tone and minimizes pores. Also the PETER THOMAS ROTH - Camu Camu Power C X 30™ Vitamin C Brightening Moisturizer is also really good for uneven skin tones. I hope this helps   -Janean

@AlleyB16, You should be able to find some skincare products that help. I'd recommend using something more mattifying/for oil in summer, and on the oily areas at other times of the year, and using something for dry skin in the drier areas. I've used the Effaclar Duo and Mat, and it's help me with oil. Ole Henriksen's Counterbalance moisturizer, or Ole's Truth Serum are also some good ones; you might want to try the Paula's Choice 2% BHA for exfoliation, and to help with any pore issues. In winter, if my cheeks are getting too dry, I'll usually use an oil on my cheek area, or a heavier moisturizer at night. You should be able to find something lighter for day (under makeup). Now that you know what your skintype is, I'd recommend going to Sephora or a department store, and see if you can get any additional recommendations, and some samples to try out (I don't think you can get samples of Effaclar), before buying a full-size product. And don't be afraid to be firm on what your skintype is - I had salespeople tell me they didn't think my skin was oily - I know that it is.I'd also recommend getting samples of foundation, if you're looking for something different there. You may need to use something different in summer, vs what you would use when you have drier skin (I do - and I would regardless of oil, because my skin gets darker in summer).

I have really red skin and acne and I struggle.  May I suggest trying to treat some of the underlying problems first (with skincare), and then find an acceptable foundation.  I tend to skip primers because they make my skin look worse.  Here's what I've been using and have had a huge improvement: Skin care:BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum (at night)BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Probiotic Gel Moisturizer (both morning and night)BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil (morning)DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum (once or twice per week; don't overdo it) Skin Prep:DIOR - Capture Totale Dreamskin Advanced or cheaper alternative ERBORIAN - Pink Perfect CrèmeFace: DIOR - Fix It 2-in-1 Prime & Color Correct - 400 GreenDIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body FoundationLAURA MERCIER - Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Hi, I use Lancome Teint Idole most of the time. It is matte and has full coverage.  It is fragrance free.  Everybody is different so it is hard to know until you use a product if you can tolerate it.  But that is my pick and it is good for combination skin.

The question was how does the clarisonic compare to the proactive brush. not cheaper drugstore brushes. I haven't used the clarisonic, but I've used the proactive brush and it's amazing. I love it so much I don't think I'm worried much about spending an arm and a leg on a clarisonic. I wish someone would answer the question who's actually used both.

I'd try neutral undertones. Some neutral tones are actually a mix of pink and yellow. As you age, you will find that your skin tends to look more ashy with cool tones. I've noticed that a lot with mine, and have switched from cool to neutral tones with a pink/yellow mix. It was a huge improvement. If you're pale, see if you can get some samples of Clinique, Estee Lauder, and/or Lancome foundations that are pink/neutral. They usually have some of the better selections in the fair and light shade ranges.

I do have a routine, but its totally worth it. I have CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) so most nights, I use a cleansing wipe to wash/take makeup off because I'm exhausted before bed. I've gotten into cleansing micellar water too. So far, so good for me. I try to take good care of my skin, to ward off aging and have a nice base for makeup to go on

Hey! Have not used PTR cleansers, however, I have used some cleansing products in the past that have strangely dried out my skin. (Same applies for acne-fighting products). Have you tried using a toner + facial oil to balance the skin after you use your cleansing products? I had my issues several years ago and found these steps / products to be very helpful as many products can have interesting effects on our skin, especially when they are targetted for specific concerns (such as my breakouts). I would heavily recommend the EVIAN - Brumisateur® Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray as an easy yet calming "toner". You mentioned the dryness being on your eyelids and this products is safe to spray all over your face, unlike some toners or face oils. After you spray, wait 30 seconds and gently press the excess spray into the skin! As for face oils, I would recommend HERBIVORE - Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil, an absolutely fabulous product for moisturizing and rebalancing the skin (duh it's in the name). Again, apply by gently pressing into the skin and allowing the products a good 30 seconds to soak in before applying your moisturizer.  HOPE THIS HELPED!!! (also maybe opt for a heavier moisturizer?? I use the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Butter for the face as a nice, nighttime moisturizer).
