Foundation Separation

IMG_9600.jpeg

โ€ƒ

Hello!!

I am in need of some advise! I have combination skin, and I cannot figure out how to prevent my foundation from separating. I recently bought the Haus Labs foundation and I really like it, but it moves around on my skin. I have also tried MAC, It Cosmetics CC cream, and the Fenty Eaze Drops. I am moisturizing before application and using Milk Hydrogrip primer. I have tried different applications (brush, damp beauty blender, fingers) and nothing seems to work for me. Anyone else experience this?

Thank you in advance!

Re: Foundation Separation

This happens to me too! I so want to love this foundation but I canโ€™t seem to find a way to make it work.

Re: Foundation Separation

I don't have that issue, but I do a whole routine before. Like washing, toner, moisturizer and sunscreen before I apply my make up. I use Kosas Revealer Skin-Improving Foundation SPF25 with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide . It was a recommendation from one of the staff member from Sephora and the best purchase for me. I hope it helps. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Re: Foundation Separation

U might wanna try to exfoliate your skin during your skin prep the night before and then weekly to get rid of the dry flaky dead skin cells. Always always always moisturize! Also Try using a hydration spray like Mac prep and prime or morphe continuous spray when u blend the foundation/cc cream. I use it cosmetics cc cream and itโ€™s my personal favorite ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you!!

Re: Foundation Separation

What's your skin type around your forehead @JCSams .  You might need a different primer, such as a hydrating one if you're dry or a gel or silicone if you're oily.  You could also try powder prior to primer, but that works if you're oily.

Re: Foundation Separation

Thank you so much I really appreciate it!

Re: Foundation Separation

My skin is dry on my forehead, so do you think the Milk Hydrogel Primer would work? That is what I normally do.

Re: Foundation Separation

Any that you would recommend?

Re: Foundation Separation

@JCSams,  Re: Hydrogrip, it should work, but since you've noticed separation, you could try concentrating more moisturizer on the trouble areas, or trying a new primer.  It's marketed for dry skin, but I don't feel like it's really for any particular skin type, I look at it as its own thing.  (Also, to tag a specific member for a faster response, use "@" then username.)

Other primers:

The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer 1 oz/ 30 mL.  I use the other version, which is for oily-combo, works pretty well.  Haven't used this iteration, but imagine it works well with dry.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum 2.7 oz / 80 mLI hear also work well as a primer.

Bobbi Brown Jumbo Vitamin Enriched Face Base Moisturizer & Primer with Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid 3.38 oz/ 100 mL

Re: Foundation Separation

@JCSams  Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

YSL touchรฉ eclat blur primer

Re: Foundation Separation

@JCSams @I think you might have to try a different primer.
