Advice needed for products targeted toward flaky combo skin that can also break out

What skin care products do you recommend for treatment of dry flaky skin? I’m in my mid-forties so anti-aging too.  I want to get rid of the flakes. I get flakes mostly on my forehead and nose. But my skin will also breakout if the treatment clogs pores.

@makeupmaven77  What's your current skincare routine (products + brand names)? I don't want to recommend things you might already use enough of. Also, have you seen a dermatologist or primary care doctor about your flaky skin yet? 

I definitely don't recommend trying to remove all the flakes with an exfoliant, whether it's chemical (usually an AHA like glycolic acid) or physical (like a scrub cleanser). I know it's tempting and seems like a common sense thing to do. But depending on what's really causing your flaky skin, exfoliation can make things worse.
