Amodimethicone vs Dimethicone in Haircare

Hi y’all, looking for some advice. I transitioned to completely silicone-free haircare about two years ago, and while I’ve made progress on figuring out what makes my hair happy, I’m still not 100% satisfied. While I would like to continue to completely avoid dimethicone and other water-insoluble silicones, I’m on the fence about water-soluble silicones—specifically amodimethicone. I’ve seen conflicting reports on its solubility, and a lot of the shampoos and conditioners I’ve thought about trying have it as an ingredient. Any advice from those who also try to be silicone-free would be appreciated! I’ve got salon-dyed red, fine hair that tends to be dry (especially in winter).

When I went silicone free I just researched reviews on Sephora and Ulta. I chose through ingredient preferences "silicone free" and found the best rated. (I added screenshots for example of what shows up under Best Selling, Silicone Free conditioners.)
