Making the Switch to 'Clean' Skincare

Hi! I've been wanting to make the switch to clean skincare.  My current routine is the Cetaphil Oil Removing Face Wash, Neocutis Lumiere Eye Cream, and Cerave PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion.  I also use an acne treatment prescribed by my dermatologist (it's clindamycin 1%, Niacinamide 2%, and Tazarotene 0.05%).  My skin is currently very clear and I haven't been having issues aside from a few blemishes every so often, so I'm unsure if I should be switching when my skin is doing well. I do however want to be using products that use less chemicals and are all around better for my skin.  I was thinking of switching to either Youth to the People or Biossance; does anyone have any advice on making this switch or love/hate either of these brands?  Or have any suggestions for anything I should try? Thanks for the help in advance!

Re: Making the Switch to 'Clean' Skincare

@cali25  I definitely agree with @AlexisApplejack that both brands are wonderful! I use both in my routine. The inkey list and the sephora collection both also have some great budget "clean" options, however the Sephora collection ones all have fragrance in case you find that fragrance is irritating to your skin/ not to your tastes

Re: Making the Switch to 'Clean' Skincare

I think both brands are wonderful! You can also consider Sephora Collection (the new skincare line is certified clean) and Laneige (not certified clean but they are a Korean based brand).

I would suggest introducing one new product at a time to make sure you skin doesn't have any kind of reaction to it instead of switching all at once that why you know what is and isn't working for you.

Hope this helps!

Re: Making the Switch to 'Clean' Skincare

Forgot to ask a follow up! How long do you suggest waiting in between products?  If I try a new face wash, how long should I wait before trying a new mask, moisturizer, etc.?

Re: Making the Switch to 'Clean' Skincare

Sorry for the late reply! Ideally you would want to wait a month to make sure your skin doesn't react or have any issues in the long run, just because you don't have a reaction immediately doesn't mean one won't sneak up on you later!
