Cheek Challenge Winter 2024/25, The Frost, The Glitz and The Wardrobe

Once upon a time:

To round out the year cheeky co-quettes we're collaborating again with @sister13 for a really fun and festive time.  We're all duchesses of draping, universal under painters and beguiling blush babes at this point.  So, now I want you to tell me stories.  I love a good inspo story.

Let's get "Pop"ular (November 18-24)

 
Create a look with anything from a collab with the movie/musical Wicked, use anything from any Wicked Collaboration (One/Size, R.E.M., Opi, etc) " or anything that inspires you, particularly accenting pink, gold or green (not a green blush, but anything with a muted tone in the red family).

Fairytale makeup - this was a tiktok trend earlier this year.  I have no idea where it came from, but I love the idea of fairy tale makeup and just winding down the year.  I love it so much, it's a three part-er!

 

November 25-Dec 1
Part 1 -  Cast of Characters.  This is any fairytale makeup magic your heart desires from your favorite sidekick/supporting character.  Doesn' t need be a cosplay level look, whether it's using a cool color shifting liner or working a full fairy godmother look, let your makeup be inspired by the ones who always had the hero/heroine's back.

December 2-8th
Part 2 -The Princess Edit - give me your best Disney Princess/Prince blush look.  Are we going snow white rouge, or snatched Cinderella??

 
Part 3 - Very Villainous. Not at all demure. (December 9-Dec 15)
Let's be honest, Ursula, Maleficent, the evil queen....all slayed the makeup game, and then subsequently slained.  Well, what are heroics without the calamity of a counterpart? Bring out your inner baddie this week.

Wickedly Wintry: Dec 16-22
If it's in the title (the lion, the witch and the wardrobe), why not pay homage to it?  Using elements of ice and frost, give me your best Ice Queen look aka white witch from Narnia.  Silvery, sparkly highlights welcome.  If that's too frosty forward, any element of silver or white within your look can play to this theme.

Belle of the Ball (Dec 23-29) give me Glitz! Glam! All the glitter!  Feel free to use any holiday release, like the Dior or Nars collections.

Pixie Power!  (Dec 30-Jan 5) I want to see spritely cheeks, there needs to be a gold or glow involved.  Tinkerbell time!

Frosty Foliage: Jan 6-12
Give me that sunset blush look, but make it frosty...plum, berries, holographic shimmer.  (Not quite foliage, but I was going for the callback and alliteration.)

Thank you @peculiarzmakeup. Red and orange are not colors I typically gravitate towards when it comes to makeup so I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone a little.

@itsfi  Mushu inspired blush?! I love it! And a red ombre/gradient blush look, I bet that looked so cool! I am torn between thinking I need a proper red blush in my arsenal, and thinking I could never pull that off! 😅 (but I am sure you pulled it off wonderfully!)

@caitbird, I think you would look great with red blush! The Tower 28 red can be sheerred out easily. You have some red eyeshadows, yes? If so, that might be a way to test what red would look like on you as blush, before you look into an actual red blusher.

@itsfi  aww thank you! That is actually a really good idea, although I have to see what I have in the way of more matte red eyeshadows (as opposed to super sparkly multichromes lol, which I love but might not be the best choice for a blush look 😅)

So, I invite everyone to think fairly loosely about the sidekicks.  I say this for myself, because I thought I'd start this week with Abu, Aladdin's sidekick, but I leaned into own preference and also was like, "I'm using the HG Tiger palette, so why not Rajah?" VERY TEMPTED to put stripes on my face, but I remembered last week's attempt to paint myself green...😂

So far I'm on Rajah and today, Nala (lion king),

Posting additional ideas:

Meeko (Pocahontas)- smoky eyes, light pink blush (this is tomorrow's plan)

Abu - rimmed eyeliner, red orange or red brown blush

Monochrome blush look - any of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty

Lottie (in the gif with powder puff) lavender eye shadow, red blush, beauty mark

I would have taken more time for brows and eyes but I was racing the clock of the little one waking up. Also should have done eyelashes but couldn’t find my eyelash glue since I havent totally unpacked from SEPHORiA! 

 

I went warmer on the face and brows, using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette Lotus Flower for cheeks, nose, brows, and eyeshadow contour.

Then, PATRICK TA Major Dimension Eye Illusion Eyeshadow Duo Talk To My Team  and PATRICK TA Major Dimension Eye Illusion Eyeshadow Duo I'm With Her  and PATRICK TA Major Dimension Eye Illusion Eyeshadow Duo  on eyes, cheek highlight and nose.

 For lips, I used a pink Marc Jacobs liner, topped with Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Oil Luminizing Lip Oil 'N Gloss Coppa Cookie  and then Too Faced Kissing Jelly Non-Sticky Lip Oil Gloss Bubblegum 

 

For cheek highlights, I layered the Dior holiday highlighter Or first, then the Patrick Ta (kind of mixed the goldy shades.) And finally, I remembered my ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr O/S X WICKED - Popular Glitter On 'Til Dawn Setting Spray which I sprayed on the cheek and brow bones added the perfect multi-colored glitters and held everything SO WELL!! 

 

I wasn’t sure how this would look and usually hate nose contour and highlight, but I thought it actually turned out pretty cute!
