Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@itscarin

I saw the video and stand by my assessment 😋 It's not the palette I had hoped it would be, nor is it a palette I think I would get much use out of, even with a couple of outstanding shades. More gold, more bronze, more rose? Nope nope nope, not what I wanted to see, though I guess it's not surprising either.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Oh…more pinks. I think I’m all set. I was hoping for something…more. Something different. Her sh*t all looks the same to me now…and definitely not worth the money.
I am way more excited to use my Sydney Grace x Temptalia palettes.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Huetopia - there will also be something called an Artistry Wand that has mixing medium to intensify pigments

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

It is going to be Mothership IX Huetopia Artistry Palette

there was a shade called "Huetopia" (sort of peachy gold satin) in last year's Fleur Fantasia quad, so I'm guessing it will also feature in this palette.

the next launch appears to be another eyeshadow mothership

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mochapj Looking forward to seeing what will be available in this launch.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mochapj@ChristalM, and @WinglessOne, reading your conversation had me intrigued, so I decided to look at all of the Mothership pallets at Sephora...basically, every one does have at least one pink color! I do also agree it'd be nice to see some new colors in Mothership pallets, especially given the price.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@FullCoverageBB  Oh, I don't mind 1 or 2 pink shades in each Mothership; I mean, she also often includes at least one gold shade. But since 2019, Pat's been on a big consistent rose-themed kick, starting with Mothership VII Divine Rose which is mostly a curated palette of previously released shadows from various other palettes. Each new palette since has been heavily pink themed, including a 6-pan MTHRSHP, and she's done full rose-themed collections of eyeshadows + lipsticks + other things. I'm all rosed out, man. 😄

I have each Mothership except VII which doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't hate the shadows it contains, but seeing them pulled together as a color story bores me—plus, I already own nearly all of them since I have the other Motherships. (No offense to folks who have and love VII, of course. It's just not my cup of tea. Some folks hate VI Midnight Sun, after all, but I love that palette.) So, I'm hoping for a Mothership that contains only 1 pink at most. I'll be thrilled if it's a rainbow palette. Those are my jam.

EDIT: I misnumbered Midnight Sun as Mothership V when it's really VI, and Divine Rose as VI when it's really VII. Fixed that.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne Am I the only one that was disappointed today with the reveal?  I really thought it would be rainbow pastel colors but then it looks like colors we have seen before from different Motherships or Quads.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@SportyGirly125 Nope I am with you. I was hoping for something different. This is just more of the same. I might consider getting it at a good discount but I won't be ordering on launch day. Disappointing

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@SportyGirly125  You're definitely not the only one who's disappointed. The only possibly unique-to-PMG shades might be the coral matte (I don't recall that in any of the other palettes or singles) and the one that looks like a brown-gold-green multichrome. The purple-pink-blue multi looks interesting, but it's not different enough from shades in the Mothership Mega palette (though the formula's obviously going to be different). Everything else looks like a rehash of the last 2 Motherships and the rose-themed quads.

I don't get "rainbow" from this palette at all, though it's marketed as "rainbow to outer space." I didn't expect pastels; I figured it'd contain bolder colors, based solely on teaser descriptions. So I'm not surprised this isn't a fully pastel palette. But do 2 multichromes really merit a "rainbow" description of a 10-pan palette, Pat? 🙄 Midnight Sun is more rainbow themed than this new palette. C'mon now.

Maybe I'll feel different when I see some real life swatches. But for now: as much as I love Pat's duo and multi chromes, I'm not feeling this Mothership.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne @FullCoverageBB exactly. It is not that I dislike pink but this Divine Rose theme has been beaten to death! LOL. Enough and give us something else please 🙂 Just my two cents as always...

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne@SportyGirly125  I too have noticed an intense focus on rose-themed shades from PAT McGRATH. Although I enjoy using the shades, I'd like to see different color stories from this brand as well.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne I feel like it might be pastel colors

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mochapj  Based on the "do you dream in color" hint on Pat's instagram, I hope it's an eyeshadow palette (Mothership or otherwise) containing a variety of shades that are anything but more pinks. Though the bit of pink rose packaging in the video doesn't give me much hope for a non-pink Mothership. Reeeeally wish she'd close the rose chapter and move on.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne omg yes. I wish she would move on from this rose theme!

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne based on the packaging I’m fairly confident it’s the next Mothership, plus it’s been a while since the last one.

however the images also still look like Divine Rose graphics so I’m not as interested in that.

Despite the fact that I’m not super into pastels, I’m kind of hoping it’s a pastel palette because I’d like to see what the brand would do with that

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

A bit of a random question, how long does it take for PM launches to arrive at Sephora?

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@hersheykisseslv It really depends.  The blushes launched a week after it was on her website.  Sometimes Sephora doesn't get them till weeks later.  For example the holiday collection last year.  Also, Sephora doesn't always get her full collection.  The latest drop, Sephora did not get Golden Nectar highlighter and Nymphette blush because they were PMG exclusives.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@hersheykisseslv usually 1-2 weeks after it launches on her site. But there are always some shades of items she reserves as exclusively for her website.
