National Lash Day: no special discount code for any of Pat’s mascaras. 😐 But if anyone missed out on last year’s Dark Star Colour Blitz mascaras, all 3 shades are available again at the brand’s site for $13 USD. I highly recommend the green one, Electric Jade. And I’ll warn you that the red one might hurt your eyes. (I don’t have the box anymore so I can’t say the red shade contains carmine, but I assume it does.)

I’m got an email from Marc Jacobs, I was still signed up for MJ makeup releases I guess.

 

 

 

I agree with @WinglessOne, would be better if a new shade but I don’t think I have Forbidden Love, so I’d probably get it. I still use and live a bunch of my MJ makeup and look forward to its return (hopefully!)

@peculiarzmakeup  Pat McGrath’s most famous collab is probably with Star Wars: her brand’s done 2 Star Wars collections. (She’s a big fan of the movie series.) She also did a Bridgerton collection, and the Surpreme collab @SportyGirly125 mentioned. 

This Marc Jacobs collab would be far more interesting to me if the lipstick was a new shade instead of an existing MatteTrance shade. Or if her MatteTrance lipsticks were refillable and this was a special Marc Jacobs case. Forbidden Love is a pretty shade of red, and I can see folks who don’t already have it buying this MJ version, or people who are MJ fans and still miss his makeup line (which will reportedly return next year). Otherwise, this feels like just another cash grab to me.

I got so excited for this too at first @WinglessOne ! Oh well, cute but money saved.  Supreme is still the one that got away! 😭🤣

@Sunnysmom  Eh, I still say Elson 3 is the Supreme dupe. 😉 I’m sure there’s a sliver of difference between the 2 reds, but probably not enough for many people to notice. So if you ever picked up Elson 3 when it was available, you’ve basically got Supreme (or something very close to it). I’m happy enough with Elson 3 to not stress over missing out on Supreme.

@WinglessOne, I was like, do I have Elson 3??? I do!  That was the shade in the Crimson Couture kit.  I can finally let go the whole PMG Supreme Bot Fiasco.  Ahhh, peace...

@danielledanielle  Yay, I’m glad you have Elson 3! And thanks for naming the kit; I couldn’t remember the name and then forgot to look it up. 🤦‍♀️ I do recall laughing hard at all the bot owners when I saw a couple people compare Supreme and Elson 3 in videos. (Though I’m sure they still made money off people who just had to have that Supreme branded case.) I kinda feel like Elson 3 was Pat saying “lost bot royale for Supreme? Don’t worry, I got you.”

@makeitup305  I was unhappy when I got the email, until I realized “oh, it’s just a reissue of Divine Rose II.” 🤣 Initially I saw “Divine Rose” and the palette and got very not another new bleepin’ pink rose palette for a minute.  

Not fond of this as a cash grab though, since the original VIII’s still very much available for $128—or less, if you have Ulta points or Nordy Notes to spend on it.

@WinglessOne it does seem like a cash grab. It’s so lame. If she’d done a palette with that red and blue that’s on that rose now that’s another story.
