Is it terrible that I'm considering buying the Blitz Astral trio on her site and returning the ones that I bought from Sephora (the unopened ones obviously)? It comes out to getting one of the quads free.

@makeitup305 i'm so bitter now lol. But i already used my trio so i couldnt return them to Sephora ... and it is not currently available at PMG direct.  Yes, 25% off of Blitz Astral quad trio would be sweet.  In other notes, i couldnt resist but to order the Ritualistic Rose: Beautiful Stranger + Femme Bot duo.  As long as i dont look at anymore Black Friday deals i should be good cuz i have a feeling anything i bought at Sephora will be at a steeper discount where else lol

Is there a code for this offer or is it automatic @makeitup305. I always get charged sales tax whenever I place an order from PMG direct because I live in NJ where the warehouse is based.

@Loretta55 i think it's required per state.  I always get charged 8% tax (or something liked that) in CA (still cheaper than in store tax, it's almost 10% where i live)

It's automatic @Loretta55 . That's a bummer about the tax! What states get taxed? Only the ones were it's warehoused?

@makeitup305  Any state that requires (by law) out-of-state online retailers to collect sales tax. Illinois now requires it. 😡 Since I live in Chicago, that means I pay state, county, and city sales taxes. That adds up to 10.25%. We’ve had one of the highest sales taxes in the nation for a long time, and now it’s harder to avoid paying it online. 

Also, any online retailer who has a physical location (warehouse or store) in IL must charge the appropriate sales tax. I assume other states have similar laws.

@WinglessOne I deal with retail and you have to charge tax In that state when you have a physical store or a warehouse in that state that sells that product.

@makeitup305  I remember the year Michigan (my home state) raised its state sales tax from 4% to 6%. I had moved to Illinois by then. When my Michigan friends whined about their new sales tax being too high, I showed them one of my Chicago store receipts and said “awwww, you guys are bleepin’ adorable.” 🤣 I don’t recall if that was the year our sales tax dropped from 10.25% to 9.75% because that drop didn’t last long. 

There are cities and towns elsewhere in the US where sales tax is 11% or higher. 😬 One of them is River Grove, a suburb near Chicago. I think Seattle’s still at 11%. Anyone who shops online at a retailer outside their state is supposed to report any unpaid sales tax on their state tax returns (well, in states that have a sales tax; a handful don’t) but, um, how many of us have ever done that... which is why some states now crack down on retailers and force us to pay those taxes at point of sale. I’d be fine with that if some of us didn’t have tax rates above 9%, or if we only had to pay the state rate (it’s 8.something—8.75%, I think—in IL) instead of a combined rate. 

That’s a lot more than I meant to say about sales tax. 😄

Probably @makeitup305! At least I receive my orders quickly. The PMG warehouse is located down the street from the Tarte warehouse which is about a 40 minute drive from my house. I keep hoping that I will get invited to a warehouse sale.

Warehouse sales are fun @makeitup305. Sometimes there will be a sample area where items that were never produced are offered for purchase. My favorite purchase from a warehouse sale was a black leather jacket which was returned from a store or possibly pulled apart by the manufacturer for unknown purposes. This jacket was supposed to be double breasted and have a button out lining. I only paid $50.00 plus sales tax. I spent an additional $100.00 on alterations and had a lining made. I was told that the jacket originally retailed for $700.00.

@makeitup305 Oh Boy. And so it starts. I *just* placed an order with Muse Beauty for a boatload (rowboat, not an oil tanker) of Esum brushes, since they also started their 20%  off sale early. Guess I'm heading on over to PMG next....Thanks for the heads up!
