Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@makeitup305   Decadence isn’t a must-have for you. 🙂 I still don’t think Natasha Denona’s Biba palette is a must-have, but that’s because I have a strong bias for colorful eyeshadows and most neutral palettes bore me—so, Biba’s not a must-have for me. Eh, we all have different tastes.

You could think of Decadence as a collection of shimmery accessory shades, rather than try to create full eye looks exclusively with this palette. I think 1 or 2 neutral mattes would pair nicely with any Decadence shadows. Or, one of those shadows would make a great inner corner highlight (not just a typical tear duct highlight, but a full inner corner punch of color); that’s something I do very often with various shadows. The dark blue shadow would create a gorgeous smoky shimmery outer corner for any other shadows you’d typically pair with blue. Any of the shadows would be a beautiful single color on the lid.

If I ever get this palette (which is looking less and less likely 😡😭), I’ll want to try lots of different combos, and some of those will include non-Decadence shadows. I also want to see how different these palette shadows are from the EYEdols singles; I know the formulas are different, but I have the Lapis Luxury single and want to compare it myself to the Decadence version because I’m a crazy person who likes to test all of the things. This is definitely my kind of palette, and I’m not a hardcore PMG collector. 😄

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@WinglessOne of course, it's just my opinion. I think part of my issue might be my skintone, because when I blend out the more purple shades and the dark blue, it just sort of looks grey and almost bruise-like. I really like the shades in general so maybe I just need to focus on using them as accent shades and not try blending them out very much. I'm going to give it a few tries like that and see if I get more use out of it.

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

I Agree with everything you said im the same. So many looks i could do with it 😭😭😭

@makeitup305, This is my first Pat Mothership palette. I...

@makeitup305, This is my first Pat Mothership palette. I only have the 6 pan palettes. I definitely will have to use some mattes with it. I recently purchased the Metalmorphisis 005 Everything kit. Here are 2 eye looks I made from the silver and copper pigments. I'm not a very good eye make up person, but these were so easy. I'm hoping to do the same with this palette.

@Luvstravel very pretty!

@Buootiful, Nope, just the PM silver pigment ❣

Ooh, that silver look is stunning! Did you use a gloss on top? It has a lovely wet, shimmery feel 🙂 @Luvstravel

Thanks @TraceyEB.

Thanks @TraceyEB.

@Luvstravel, the makeup looks you posted worked out beautifully!

RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@makeitup305everyone likes what they like and there’s nothing wrong with it not being your fave, but decadence happens to be my fave of the PMG palettes

i did a palette of the week challenge last year and put together these 8 looks. With the exception of the bottom centre eye look, they are all only using Decadence. The one in the centre was specifically trying to recreate an editorial photo, so it has a glitter topper in addition to the palette.

I believe Temptalia has also covered Decadence in her ‘x # of ideas with...’ series where she lists different colour combos you can make with a given palette. ( https://www dot temptalia.com/12-x-pat-mcgrath-decadence-mothership-eyeshadow-palette-look-ideas/?show_all=1 )

Hope that helps!

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mochapj  those looks are an inspiration! I did manage to get the palette to complete my 10 pan collection pan and am forever grateful. Thank you for sharing your looks! I love colorful shadows so this is really enticing to me! Skillful artistry 😍🤩😍

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Thank you @sunnysmom @blackitty2014 and @mermadelove so nice to hear you were able to find one ☺️

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mochapj  it was definitely a case of the early bird getting the worm! I was up at the crack of Saturday morning stalking the page and couldn’t believe my eyes. I hit  add to cart and place order faster than I ever have in my life!

RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Gorgeous as always @Mochapj

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Mochapj all your looks are lovely! What shades did you use for the green look? that one and the middle right one are my favorite.

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Agree @makeitup305 all looks stunning but loving the green @Mochapj, you’re so talented! I’m so envious of all you guys who can make these kind of looks work. I’m so sadly basic it’s a miracle if I use a mix of greys, taupes or maybe greens! Ugg.

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@makeitup305  thank you!

For the green look, I used Gold Standard, Inferno, Sinful, Underworld and Enigma.

I mixed GS and Underworld together all over the lid to make the green as well as using Underworld just on the outer v. I mixed Enigma and Inferno for my crease area. I applied Sinful into my inner corner.

Hope that helps!

Re: RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Thank you @Mochapj I might have to try it out!

@Mochapj, Thanks for those looks!

@Mochapj, Thanks for those looks!

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@makeitup305 I'm with you, and I'm a huge PMG fan.  I saw online somewhere that this palette is all metallics - which for me are harder to use.  I adore each shade individually but struggle to make a look out of this palette alone.  As with much of PMG - for me at least - it is a question of whether this specific product will work with how you do makeup.  I use this as a quick one shade wash of color and really do love the gold and silver.  But, it isn't my favorite of her palettes either.  For that, I personally turn to Bronze Seduction.  PMG is so expensive that I need to commit to each piece.  But I never regret any of them.  I just use some more than others.

Wash of color...that's what I personally do with this palette...and maybe a little smudged liner.
