Mothership VI Eyeshadow Palette - Midnight Sun
@Brutalitops I have been asking all over Instagram including on the official Pat McGrath post and it was "liked" but not answered 😞
I love that quad with the blue and purple, have to get that one even though it is pricey.
$86 CAN. Our low dollar is painful. I love the quad with the teal and purple, but ouch to the wallet.
Wow the new quads are up!
Wow!! Why so expensive Pat? lol 😉
NOOOO looks like we are only getting 2 of the 3 and of course the third is the one I wanted most.
Me too! I have a $100 reward that I have been saving to use on that quad 😞
@JenniferOhJenny Hopefully it is just not up YET? Maybe wishful thinking... 😞
@veronika23 No, right, just no. I want Midnight Sun but - seemingly - almost all of the Sephora reviews are people who got a freebie. Is anyone buying this palette? The 20% is tempting, I swatched in store and like - but - it's not the end all be all. So, skip, right? Even at 20% off?
@meganlisa and everyone else on the fence regarding Midnight Sun:
I ordered Midnight Sun from Sephora through Retailmenot's $20 cash back on $100+ purchase - which is still active as of right now. It's not quite as good as 20% off, but I didn't want to wait for Sephora's F&F and I wanted to keep my spend with Sephora for the points.
I own all of PMG's 10 pan & 6 pan palettes. (Yeah, we all know I have a thing for eyeshadow.) This is the first palette from her that I have not stopped using since I received it. There is something about it that is just so easy to use. The dark brown smokes out the corner of the eye so beautifully and I have used every single color in this palette. I really should use the other palettes more, but when I snap those open, I just get overwhelmed with "where do I start?" whereas with this palette, I find the looks come more naturally for me.
I too was very turned off by all the freebie reviews - it just seemed to good to be true, but I am truly enjoying this palette. I'm glad I purchased it - as I type this I'm now feeling guilty for neglecting the others and feel I should give them more love!
As for Retailmenot cash back program, I have never had an issue with receiving the credit. I have online chatted with their customer service a few times, and they are always immediate in resolving any issue.
HTH!!!
@fiercestpoodle I'm all about saving. This palette is more wearable than some PMG, which to me is not boring. I guess perhaps part of my hesitation is that I just have so much eyeshadow. But I completely understand why you love and use this palette (Pat does such lovely products).
@meganlisa I decided to order it because A) I am waaay more obsessed with that olive green shade than I ought to be at this price point, B) The colors in this palette looked colorful but muted enough for everyday wear for me. If you like less muted colors this is more of a companion palette IMO and probably not a good investment at this price point. Also, that orangey glitter shade is a sparkle disaster IMO/ from swatches. Given that it is orange, I wasn't super likely to use it anyway so while ruling out two shades from the get go reduced the overall value for me even without the performance issue I still bought it with the 20% off- that green got me. Side note, there's a green glitter shade in the ND Mini Star that's equally disastrous and I love that thing to pieces so if it was a better shade, I'd be willing to forgive the performance. If you're on the fence, I'd say skip it at least until the November sale- by then your feelings on it should be clearer and you won't lose out spending more $
@Brutalitops I have a Too Faced blush that got an F on Temptalia and I love it (recognizing that it isn't perfect). You are 100% right that Midnight sun is more everyday wearable than Pat's earlier bigger palette.
You are making me want it now, I must confess, hmmm...so now what do I do (hint, perhaps I should use one of the many other palettes I own, including PMG. But, of course, no).
Watch it sell out on me before the 20% off ends.
@meganlisa lol that’s my biggest pet peeve, after mulling it over and finally deciding to go for it .... it’s out of stock 😫😭
@Brutalitops been there, done that, so many times...
Jumping in for a second. I’m conflicted also @meganlisa . I seem to like a few shades in these palettes vs using enough of them so the price doesn’t seem to warrant it. 😞 Need to branch out I guess.( I did get the new small ND gold and like it.) One idea- I bought a few of the PM singles which I like and use more than other $$ sets. Just my 2 cents and you maybe have them too ☺️. @TraceyEB Glad you love the new PM! @blackkitty2014 you crack me up! 😘
@Sunnysmom, which PM singles do you enjoy? I have one that I found accidentally as I was going through the checkout and quite like it (Rose Venus).
@TraceyEB I only have Divine Mink and Dark Matter , because I also have several of the first larger palettes she did. And I don’t use enough of the vivid shades in them . I should. I love and use Divine Mink quite a bit. The Rose looks pretty as does Celestial I thought tho it’s probably in a palette and I don’t remember! 🙄
@Sunnysmom, thanks for the shades names, will look them up! I didn't know you had some large ND eyeshadow palettes. My venture into vibrant shades is CT's Icon palette and certain Suqqu palettes though they're quite wearable. I prefer to spruce up a look via a top coat of some sort. 🙂
