~ Updated Sept 26th 2019 ~

Since the brand is coming to Sephora. I thought I'd start a thread just for the brand for news and info.

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@PrettyPaint  I color matched myself using 2 foundations I normally use that match me well and got 2 different numbers. I got number 7 and number 10 but I’m going to go with 7 since the reviewers are saying it oxidizes a bit.

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@gonerogue  Thanks so much! I hadn't read about potential oxidation issues, so that's good to know for sure. I was mainly just looking at the model photos on the PMG site, but I'll definitely lean towards a lighter shade if reviewers are commenting on it oxidizing. Thanks again! 🙂

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@PrettyPaint  I did some swatching of shades 3-10. I couldn't tag you in my post for some reason but just scroll to the first page of this thread to see them. After seeing the shades in person, I think shade 3 is my normal shade and shade 5 is my "slight summer tan" shade just as an FYI.

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@gonerogue  Thanks so much. That's super helpful to know!

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Cyncynn, the foundation looks fantastic on you. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm really excited for this release. I can't wait to try it!

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@curlychiquita Thank you so much - I think this will be a big hit, not that I'd expect anything different from PMG. Everything she releases seems very carefully thought out and formulated really.

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Cyncynn, really appreciate your swatches, observations, and comparison photos. The foundation looks good on you. Am looking forward to hearing impressions of the foundation and system when it launches. I don't expect my local Sephoras to carry it, so I'll have to wait to be matched if reviews are positive.

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@TraceyEB went in and looked at them the other day and was quite amazed at the range of fair and light shades. I’m not dark at all and I was a 9 or 10! It felt nice and light though I thought a little drying. Could just be me but was mid day and I def didn’t feel moisturizing or glowy. For those liking a more matte feel probably good. I prefer a more moisturizing look so will try my sample again after my usual morning routine with more underneath maybe :).

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Sunnysmom, this is all good to know. I'm expecting to be matched to Light 6 or Light 5. I don't mind a matte foundation - I use Chanel and BB ones in the summer - but it can't feel drying. Will definitely request samples before buying. Keep us apprised as your testing continues. 🙂

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@TraceyEB after trying it today quite soon after my moisturizer routine it went on much better. Not as dry to me and seamlessly blended into my skin tho I always do it very very sheer. Looked pretty.  I’m prob sticking to my beloved Jouer tinted spf moisturizer for the lightest coverage I want but I can see where this will be very pretty and popular! Try it and tell us! 💞

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Sunnysmom, that's very reassuring! I heard that the foundation is intended to be applied like moisturizer (presumably a thin layer, building where needed), and that it applies well with fingers. Glad it looks pretty, too!!

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

Oh that’s very good to know thanks @TraceyEB ! I didn’t catch that. Absolutely makes sense. It did perform great I have to say! Looked good all day! May have to reconsider my no buy for more foundations etc on it. Lol lol

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@TraceyEB Yes I know you will find a good color match. I thought I’d be a 5 at first or 7 maybe so I see how you would be at least a 5 or 6! I love the new Chanel still too, great formula I hope they keep!  I am anxious to try the Pat today and see how it looks and feels. First impression I felt like it caught my little feathery cheek fluff! 😱🤣But it did feel very light and nice! Keep us posted too as you try it. @blackkitty2014 you too doll! 💞

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@TraceyEB

I am so glad that was helpful! I would definitely wait for swatches, it's great that they have that many shades, but it can get overwhelming and you never know how the shades will look in real life. I would have expected L4 to look peachier, but it was fairly neutral.

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@Cyncynn Thx you for your review.  It looks really good on you.  I want to try this but looks liked every brand has a new foundation comes out at the same time.  Decision! Decision!

Re: RE: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

@blackkitty2014 Thank you! I agree, I can't keep up with so many new releases - I have over 16 bottles of foundation and very little hope of ever finishing more than 2 of them!

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

For holiday 2019 - Mothership quads, from Really Ree. There will also be a Mothership VI called Midnight Sun (part of which is visible in the last photo) and a few of the Mattetrance lipsticks in the colored packaging in Elson and Omi.

RE: Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

These are pretty! I’m excited for the quads ❤️

Re: THE PAT McGRATH THREAD

I will skip these quads. The central one is the most interesting to me, but I'm so tired of golds in Pat's palettes... She always put at least one gold pan in every palette she releases and at this point they all look the same. A gold pan in a quad is a waste of space.

The big palette seems too similar to Mothership V, so I bet it's not the Midnight Sun. I will purchase it if it doesn't have more than 1 gold pan! 🙂

I like the packaging a lot for those quads. It doesn't look as bulky as the 6 pan palettes.
