Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

A few days ago, the highlighter sets went from "out of stock" without any option of any email reminders, to allowing you to put in an email to receive notification when it's back in stock.

Not absolute, but that might be a hint of hope for some.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I wanted to love however, it just failed massively for me. And it's so expensive. Cheap packaging. Please Pat you can do better.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

To be honest I'm not wowed by her products. I got her Gold 001 and it was meh. I tried using it so many different ways and it was just a flakey mess.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Ok I got my golden kit today and omg it's beautiful.  I find that wearing the pigment on it's own as a highlighter looks kind of sparkly, but when I layer it over the balm, it looks perfect and like a fresh glow! Even my mom saw and was like OOO nice! I think the golden is more natural where the nude is not, however both are beautiful and I am 100% happy I got both!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I've had some time to play with Skinfetish, and I'm ready to share some thoughts.

Firstly, I'd like to note that PM's customer service is top notch.  Even though I didn't get a call ahead of time like @veronika23 - when my items were delivered yesterday I was levied $35 in duties.  I reached out to PM to voice my displeasure, and noted that previous releases I'd purchased not only included shipping in the item cost, but also did not have duties attached.  That, on top of the fact that these weren't even being made available on Sephora Canada, left me a very unhappy customer.  With exchange rate, the $25US shipping charge and duties, 2 kits came out to $250CA. Smiley Frustrated  PM was quick to offer a refund on my shipping charge and the duties, which was greatly appreciated and a classy move.

On to the kits, though!

I ordered Nude for myself and Golden for a girlfriend who is just getting into makeup.  She thought Nude would be too unnatural and pink for her, and I thought I had enough gold highlights already.  Smiley Tongue

I tried Nude yesterday and my favorite part was the balm.  It gives such a subtle gloss finish to the skin.  The pink pigment was also pretty, but very flashy (as in obvious) against my skintone.  As I discussed below, it is a color (not texture) dupe of the white shade in TF Ripe Plum shadow duo.  I didn't care for the stick highlighter shade in the Nude kit, as on my skintone it came off a little light and ashy.

I brought my friend her Golden kit yesterday and she found the gold pigment too much (as I mentioned, she is still new to makeup, so a lot of things are too much)  She  was not a fan of it at all, so she ended up giving the Golden pigment back to me.  As I was not a fan of the Nude highlighter stick (but she was), we also ended up switching sticks.  I definitely like the darker pigment in the Golden stick.

This afternoon I tried layering the Nude pigment with the Golden stick and I quite liked the finish on my skintone.  I agree with veronika23's assessment of the Golden kit as well; it has lots of pinprick shimmer that the Nude does not.  The Nude pigment reminds me of the type of sheen you see on a satin ribbon, while the Golden pigment is more like the glimmer of stars in the night sky.

TL;DR - I'm happy with the franken-kit I have.  The quality of the products compares to the previous PM items I have purchased.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

My nude video, for those interested.  Wearing it and swatched

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I'm interested in buying just the wand and not the pigment if anyone wants to trade or sell, please message me

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Small review sans-pics since i can't capture the glint off my face at all.

I have been wearing the nude pigment for the last couple days, and I really like it over a pink blush, or even as an eye highlight. I would hesitate to use it on my forehead or nose though since it flashes pink. The brush that came with it is great. I like that it picks only a small amount, which is more than enough.

The NARS Multiple-like end of the stick (the highlighter) is great, but I am not quite sure what to do with the balm. It seems to work under the highlighter or pigment as a bling-magnifier, but i don't need that much bling Smiley Tongue It also looks like I could just use, say, a transparent Fresh lip balm instead for the same effect.

All in all, I am pleased with my purchase, if not over the moon. I wish they had made a more neutral peach-white or very pale gold version of it. As high as the quality of the pigment is, it is not a universally applicable color like, say, Becca Moonstone or Champagne. I will be on the lookout for future pigment releases though- they are really high quality.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Got my nude.

I also have a gold kit I ordered for a friend, but I can't swatch that.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I think mine is here!!! Smiley Very Happy

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Mini-review for anyone who was curious: I purchased both kits, but have only worn the nude so far (though swatched the golden). That said, I'm impressed. It applies really easily over foundation (doesn't drag/displace), you can blend it for a more sheer look (the stick), and you can play around with the balm+pigment duo (blend balm gently/soften edges before adding pigment) to get a softer look. It lasted through one incredibly rainy day. I'm wearing the stick at work today and it's not too overt.

Two of my primary concerns about this would be wearability (it doesn't seem very subtle) and how well it would play with other products and on both of those fronts, I'm really quite pleased.  I think I grabbed a decent photo but it'll have to wait until after work to share.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Hooray! I got mine in nude!

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I went with the free shipping option and both of my packages came today (sometime between 1:30-5PM central). If it's relevant to anyone wanting to estimate their ETA: I'm in the chicagoland area.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I have received mine already! I wasn't expectig it to be so fast Smiley Very Happy I already have makeup on my face so i couldn't do much with it, just added some of the pigment on my eyelids and top of cheekbones. It is an iridescent pink. I keep tilting my head to see it glint lol (looks greenish white in the pan, i detect mostly pink on my skin) I think that the gold one is going to be much more wearable. I would love to hear from BTers who ordered both Smiley Very Happy

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

Mine arrived today! Whoop Whoop!

If you ordered both, expect two packages instead of one.  Mine came packaged separately.

Re: PAT McGRATH LABS

I am waiting for Sephora, but can't wait to see the pics and reviews from people who got it today!!! So excited!!
