Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Dry Skin Foundation Report~

I have super dry skin (like MUFE UHD looks crackly on me after an hour).  Despite most reviews saying this foundation is drying, I did end up getting a free sample of it, so I gave it a try today.  And so far...I'm actually really impressed!  It actually looks gorgeous on my skin after three hours of wear.  So far it feels slightly dry, but it doesn't look dry at all.  I'm genuinely shocked!

I'll report back at the end up the day and to see if it actually managed to stay looking decent on me :3

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

@Madeline7 I'm so glad to hear this! I have dry skin as well and stayed away from this foundation because all the reviews seemed to have mentioned something about how matte it is. I'll definitely have to check this out. :-)

What did you use to apply It? a brush or sponge?

Re: What did you use to apply It? a brush or sponge?

I used a beauty blender.  It ended up holding up and looking really good the whole day.  I decided to purchase a bottle of it!

RE: Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

@Madeline7 That's great that the foundation is working for you, so many people with dry skin have had less successful experiences. How did you prep your skin before applying the foundation? Maybe you've unlocked the secret to making this work for even more people!

Re: RE: Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I applied a layer of rosehip seed oil, rubbed it in, then applied the primer and waited for it to dry down.  I applied the foundation alongside some additional rosehip seed oil and the finish ended up looking pretty nice. I worked in small sections to blend it out quickly, and the oil didn't seem to prevent it from setting much at all. One downside is that I think the oil sheered it out, because the coverage was so light I would barely even call it medium.  I was able to build it up a little bit, but not significantly.  It still -feels- a little dry, but so far it looks pretty good (no signs of flaking yet)

RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

So my closest skin match is the shade Sand by e.l.f, it is a perfect match! What Fenty shade would be close to this one? I already made a huge purchase but ordering shades online is tough so I am hoping it is a good match!! Can't wait to try out, I have really dry skin and I am 52 so should be entertaining. I probably will post a video on my channel. Thanks for the help!

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I just wanted to share that the temptalia shade matrix has added Fenty Beauty so that might be a good resource for anyone trying to shade match without going into the store. The way it works for anyone who does not know if you imput your other foundations/bb creams and it gives the 3 most likely matches based on that.

I have not purchased this foundation but maybe someone who got shade matched could test it out and see if it comes up with the right result!

RE: Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Oh wow @Kim888! I was hoping Temptalia would do something like this as she has with lipsticks, it's really helpful!

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I'm waiting for my order to arrive tomorrow. I'm going to go in store to get matched. I think I'm 370 but I want to make sure.

RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Re: Gloss Bomb... I found it not to have much color and it did not make my face pop at all. It kinda made me look washed out by itself (I'm a brown-eyed, blond with medium skin tone) - It's just OK over lipstick, but again, just average. Not real thrilled with my purchase.

Foundation. Burnss

Agree. Nothing fancy or remarkable.

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I went in store today and bought the gloss. So far I really like it. I got a sample of the foundation but I haven't worn it yet. I was really tempted by some of the highlighter duos but I held back. I'm trying to save up for the holidays, and since it's a permanent range I can always pick them up later. What are everybody's favorites so far? I've seen SO MANY reviews on youtube already!

RE: Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Love the highlighter in mean money/hustla baby and the gloss

Re: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Hi, all!  I've been wearing my sample of Fenty foundation in 120 for two days and there's plenty left for tomorrow too.  I'm very surprised that it's such a good match.  I really don't think it changed colors at any time.  Although it does look chalky when it first goes on; but after a couple of minutes, the chalkiness goes away.  It feels so light when it's on; it's not like wearing anything.  It has a nice matte finish, but it's not so matte that you look fake.  It's not drying, but it does seem to have some oil control.  The best part is my makeup looks as good when I leave work as it did when I got to work.  I'm glad I "went for it" and got a sample!

RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

Is anyone else having issues with the foundation oxidizing? I've tried two different shades and they both went on fine and then had me looking like an Oompa Loompa after an hour

Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

I have the same problem I used the 330(to dark orange almost look like a pumpkin) and 310 it was almost my match it looks perfectly inside the store  but then a few min my face was a bit orange a really want to find my shade ... mi iQ color is 2Y10..... and I already search every iQ color for every fenty shade , do you know your iQ color? I have the perfect match for every shade unfortunetly mi iq color never came out with any shade

RE: Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

When I got color IQ'd it matched me with 260 🙄 my perfect match was 210 but with it oxidizing I went with 190. It was a bit light but after oxidizing it matched so I'd say go with a shade that might seem too light but let it sit for a bit to see what it's actually gonna look like

Re: RE: THE FENTY BEAUTY THREAD

@MariinaSalazar - You might want to look at 230 or 260.  Both have neutral undertones.  230 has a Color IQ of 3Y08 and 260 has a Color IQ of 2Y07.  The reason I suggest these is because you mention the orange.  The colors you've tried have peach undertones, which may be the reason the foundation looks orange.

My match is 120 with a Color IQ of 2Y03, yet my Color IQ is 1R05.  You can see that your match may be a very different number.
