MAC x Lisa Frank?????

I’ve been to a couple Sephoras in France and every one had a mac counter or display. To my knowledge, they’ve had mac in their stores for years. Not sure why the US cannot have the same privilege?

Hmm interesting. i wonder if Estée Lauder would do this in the US? It's pretty clear sales have been down at MAC over the past couple years, especially given the number of discounts offered directly from MAC to entice us to buy. Otoh the brand is carried at Ulta, plus so many department stores. I'm totally unfamiliar with Australian retailers and where MAC is carried, all I know is MAC (and so many other brands) is crazy expensive over there. Like isn't it $30-$40usd for a regular MAC lipstick? I wouldn't be surprised if terms of the Ulta contract blocked expansion to Sephora for a set period of time.

I could definitely see these colors as being part of Aaliyah's collection. They mirror what she wore just like what they did with the Selena collection. As a fan these colors would make me happy. Curious to know if they'll do anything for eyes. She did a lot of smokey eye looks on the last album she released.

I'm not a regular MAC user- can anyone tell me what's the significance of the Lunar New Year for MAC?  Thanks!

@itsvictoria  It's my understanding that it is to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Lunar New Year is another word for it... also known as the Spring Festival.  If I'm wrong someone please correct me.  MAC usually has a collection every year to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Actually a lot of makeup brands come out with something for that occasion. Is that what you were looking for?

@veronika23 I'm Asian, and yeah it's called also the Spring Festival.  I was just wondering what MAC usually does to celebrate it, because I haven't noticed most brands do it.  Thanks for telling me though! 😉

Oh ok cool @itsvictoria!  Thanks for telling me that it's also called that 🙂 Yes MAC usually has a small collection every year. But I think this year might be the best one I've seen. Armani is coming out with a highlight powder and so are a few other companies I think. Usually one product to represent the zodiac year so like this year it's a powder featuring a dog. I would have posted about it in the spring-summer thread. I just can't recall who is doing what lol 😄
