I am happy to be able to use it to buy a few things from the Vibe Tribe collection tomorrow! I really like the products and the packaging is cute. I understand a lot of people are bothered by the collection, I feel indifferent. Is that bad?

You are not alone.

Pocahontas is one of my favorite Disney movies and this collection reminds me of that. I am choosing to make a purchase as it makes me feel like it is from Pocahontas. This movie has a special place in my heart and I would love to have something that reminds me of it.

I do not buy MAC's statement at all about it being inspired by music festivals. (Whoever's bright idea it was to come up with that statement.)

I don't disagree that it was a bad call on their end, music festival inspired? I mean, the patterns say otherwise. Unless they're referring to a music festival no one has ever heard about that only Native American's can attend and someone on MAC's design team was like YEAH! This would be a great idea! Their delivery wasn't the best. However, I am not purchasing items from the collection because I wanna feel the tribe vibes. I really like the hot chocolate lipstick shade and don't own anything like it. As far as the gleamtones powder, I love the versatility of the product and I also don't own anything like it. For it having so many shades in one compact, love it!

Yeah the packaging is real pretty!  Yeah a lot of people are bothered and I don't think it's bad that you are indifferent. I find the situation to have many shades of grey.  For me personally I don't understand some of it. Yes I believe MAC could have done some things differently but at the same time sometimes I feel I see things inspired by different cultures and places... to me that's not bad... because inspiration isn't bad. What would be bad would be to mock that culture, be very disrespectful towards it. I don't know much about the southwest but if it's a mix of cultures where a certain type of art is the main focus, why would taking inspiration from that art to create packaging for another form of art be so bad? What if it was someone else who took inspiration to paint/knit/make jewelry/whatever and then sold those items... I dunno. I guess I'm kinda in the middle... can't really find the words to describe it.
