I've searched high and low and haven't found a dedicated Jo Malone thread, but knowing how many of us enjoy JM products I though it'd be nice to have a place where we can share upcoming news and our favorites.
My all time favorite is Blue Agava and Cacao, followed by Peony Blush Suede.
I just picked up Basil and Neroli, which to my nose is a dead ringer for Bobbi Brown Beach! As I love Beach, I think this fragrance is going to be a new fave come the spring. It is different enough from Lime, Basil, Mandarin to justify owning both in my collection. Basil and Neroli emphasizes the Neroli while LBM is heavy on the basil and lime, which give it a more herbal edge.
EDIT: Updated Jo Malone and Jo Loves perfume collection (100ml, 50ml, 30ml, dry body oils):
@KNC24 The Intense Collection features darker fragrance notes, like Oud, Musk, and Patchouli, which make them heavier scents than the rest of the line. They are an homage to the scents of the Middle East, so they smell very opulent. They also tend to have better longevity and stronger projection because of the ingredients used. I am a huge fan of the Velvet Rose and Oud body oil, it makes every perfume I layer over it smell much deeper and it magnifies the florals if present (otherwise the rose stays rosy). I also own the Orris and Sandalwood because I'm a sucker for sandalwood, but none of them smell too much like an incense kiosk! They smell more like more traditional perfumes, so if you want the light and fresh experience of other Jo Malone colognes you won't find that in the Intense collection.
@KNC24 The Tuberose Angelica is the lightest of the Intense collection, to my nose, so it might be a great introduction to the floriental side of JM
Thanks @veronika23 I have been intrigued by Jo Malone's (the woman herself, not the brand name) new line since I first heard of it a few years ago (after the obligatory non-compete clause in her sale to Estee Lauder expired), but the delivery system is not my favorite. I hope we get the spray bottles as well, though.
@LCResz np :). I can't recall what the article that @ZombieMetroAnt posted in the Fall-Winter releases thread said. It said it was coming to Sephora but can't recall the details.
Wow, I didn't realize there was a JM thread! I'll go find that article from WWD and x-post here 💕 Thanks @veronika23!!
FOUND IT!
I wonder if the English Oak collection will be sold through Sephora? It's already out at other major retailers, so here's hoping 😍
@LCResz I am 99.9% sure it will be ;). I just can't tell you when because I don't know that. lol
And sure enough the newest JM fragrances dropped yesterday, 9/1! Now to wait like a good little shopper for the next big sale event, which theoretically will happen Novemberish, but who knows, we may get another little surprise discount before that (I have no inside info but I figure it can't hurt to put such happy thoughts out into the universe!)
@veronika23 Yay! I was going to get them from Saks, but I'd rather wait and get them when the winter sale rolls around!
I've heard rumours that White Jasmine and Mint & Nutmeg and Ginger will be discontinued. Possibly French Lime Blossom. Does anyone have additional info?
@jemly are you a Nutmeg and Ginger fan?
Ok maybe I'm crazy...but I'm sampling Tuberose Angelica, and to me this scent smells like dust? Or maybe kind of like an old pencil? Lol, has anyone else tried this and thought it was a strange scent? It's not necessarily a bad smell, just....strange
Pictures of the new English Oak collection to launch in September. Wouldn't it be pretty if autumn leaves were also embossed on the bottle?
Huge thanks to @Madeline7 for posting about the recent Jo Malone direct pick and spritz game. I found the scent of my dreams!
I ordered the 30 mL Lime Basil & Mandarin cologne based on the notes I thought I would like. My GWP was a 100 mL bottle of Basil & Neroli. I used promo code PEONY to get the deluxe size body cream. My samples were Blackberry & Bay cologne and Pomegranate Noir lotion.
Unfortunately, I just did not enjoy the scent of Lime Basil & Mandarine. Or the Peony. Or the Blackberry & Bay.
But! I had the sample of the Pomegranate Noir hand and body lotion....and could not stop smelling it. What a glorious scent. It's spicy, sweet & warm.
Talked to CS and they are exchanging the LB&M for a PN bottle.
In the meantime, seeing that Sephora carries JM...I ordered a Pomegranate Noir Body Lotion with the recent $15 off $50 promo and am LOVING it.
Thank you @Madeline7! 🙂
I'm going to go through this bottle of lotion way too fast!
@bem564 Of all the JM scents I've smelled (which certainly isn't all of them, but a decent few now), Pomegranate Noir is my fave so far too.
If you like spiced scents, check out Nutmeg & Ginger soon. It's not a sweet kitchen scent, just warm and spicy and heavenly.
I really thought I'd like Lime Basil & Mandarin and Basil & Neroli too, but unfortunately they were both duds for me as well. 😞 Blackberry & Bay though...I adore it 🙂
