IT Cosmetics Thread!

IT Cosmetics is coming to Sephora!  So, (even though it's super early) I thought I'd start a thread for it.

What are you excited to see on Sephora's shelves?

Spoiler
From Allure:

If you hoard It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream like it's going out of stock, slow your roll: The beauty giant is refurbishing its best-seller as the new It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact—so there will be plenty to go around for all of us. This also means that your favorite moisturizer now comes in solid form—with a twist.

Come again? Basically, the soon-to-launch It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact is a fresh play on the blur stick trend we've been seeing this year mixed in with its cult classic cream (just check out its Sephora reviews). You've got the Milk Makeup Blur Stick, which is basically a glorified filter for your face. And then there's the do-it-all Dr. Brandt Multi-Performance Stick, which we're still kind of obsessed with, TBH. The slightly tinted formula, which comes in seven different shades, glides onto the skin like silk—with help from its accompanying sponge—with the promise to cover underlying redness, minimize the appearance of pores, and smooth over any uneven texture, like the post-acne scarring I live with now. Basically, it's like a BB cream, but lighter, more breathable, and made for everyday wear. And it gives skin a slightly dewy finish. Ask any editor in the office who's tested it, and they'll tell you the solid serum garnered at least a compliment or two on how "amazing" their skin looked after application. I have to be honest, though. For me, when I tried it, I was slightly unconvinced the tint would veil my sensitive skin-prone redness. And, well, I was right. But hey, that's what concealer is for, right?

What sets this compact apart from the rest of the blurring bunch is that it's loaded with a ton of good-for-your-skin ingredients often found in your standard elixir, including plumping hyaluronic acid, moisture-retaining ceramide, and free radical-fighting squalane. Packed into this palm-size compact is also a formula of UV protection, as it also promises to protect my face from the sun, thanks to SPF 50+ broad spectrum physical sunscreen. And while the added SPF is great and all, we still highly recommend sticking to your regularly scheduled sunscreen programming—just to be on the safe side.

Bottom line, if you're looking for lightweight coverage—something in between a BB cream and full-coverage foundation—this solid serum might be your best bet. A slight tint plus all the hydration equals one happy (and glow-y) complexion. The It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact will be available on itcosmetics.com for $38 beginning February 1.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@willa25 @ZombieMetroAnt Musings of a Muse did a review of this product when it was released as the TSV. She did not rate it favoribly. I need heavier coverage so it was a pass for me.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@Loretta55 @ZombieMetroAnt Thanks for the heads up. I was technically more interested in the makeup brush that came with it (I'm pretty set on foundation right now) but I know @ZombieMetroAnt was very interested in this. Thank you so much for the heads up!

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

Eek @Loretta55!  Thanks for the tag - will definitely have to check out her blog post.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

Your welcome @ZombieMetroAnt.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@ZombieMetroAnt, it is sold out already but I think this was part of the recent QVC TSV. I'm kind of kicking myself that I didn't get it. It was sometime this past month.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

Really @willa25?  Bummer!  Do you think they'll be available later on their site?  The article could be wrong but it says "The It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact will be available on itcosmetics com for $38 beginning February 1.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

It is showing up as coming soon on Ulta's site.

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@ZombieMetroAnt, a lot of times QVC will offer items in TSVs and as well as alone that are pre-release if they have a good enough relationship with the company. Right now, the only shade that is showing in stock is "tan" and the price is $97.

I just checked it was actually $79.96 on the actual TSV day so they really upped the price since then.

I really like It Cosmetics so I follow them on QVC. I don't remember how but either through the It Cosmetics direct website or through the QVC website (or maybe both?) I get email alerts when they have a TSV coming up. They usually do 2 to 3 a year and I have to say the value is pretty amazing. Google previous ones and you will see what I am talking about.

As for the one I just pictured for you... the item # is A287731 and they are still wish listing it so that tells me they "might" still have back order shipments coming in for other shades. It's a stretch but this may be possible. If nothing else, I would definitely suggest watching the QVC site to comparison shop when this is released vs. Sephora. QVC will usually bundle a makeup brush for only a few dollars more when that brush retails for a lot more at B&M.

Okay.. hope all that information helped. Smiley Happy

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

Very helpful!  Thanks @willa25

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@willa25 not sure if you saw that last email blast but it looks like they finally got it!  Will definitely have to go check it out...

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@ZombieMetroAnt, I actually don't think I got this email or I totally blew right through it. (which is much more likely)

I have my heart set on this makeup brush as my next It purchase. I'm just waiting for a GC credit to come in for Sephora online order. It is taking forever. "rolls eyes"upload_6496530780972806342.jpg

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@willa25,

This brush is so pretty!  I want it!  Unfortunately, now I want it to be on sale, like those QVC prices last September!   I'm spoiled!  Smiley Wink

Re: IT Cosmetics Thread!

@tsavorite Oh gosh.. I totally hear you! (about those sale prices.. you get spoiled!) I did get some brushes just recently from that place I told you about. (starts with an e and ends with a y Smiley Wink )  We will see how they work out but I'm trying to be hopeful. I used the tips I told you about when I was purchasing.

Funny enough I just got the email with my refund from Sephora literally right after I posted my last message on this thread! So now I'm like do I bite the bullet and get the brush or not???

P.S. I'm actually downsizing a ton of my makeup collection including brushes in an effort to streamline everything. Of course that means I'm buying more makeup but that makes TOTAL SENSE to me! LOL
