For the love of all things Guerlain

There is a line that has buried itself in my heart (and my pocketbook), and it is Guerlain.  I know Im not the only one out there.  I thought I would start this thread for the discussion of all things Guerlain, skin care, makeup, perfume, places to get good gwp or good samples.  Experiences people have had, looks people have created with the products.  

For me it all started with a makeover by Guerlain's own Marie Line at my local Neiman Marcus.  She spent an hour with me and I left feeling calm and happy.  

As a mother of 4 year old twins and as a doctor I spend my live rushing through the day, often without enough sleep, more often without enough water, taking care of everyone else.  It shows on my face, in the fatigue in my eyes, in the puffiness and dark circles under them.  While I have been blessed with good skin it can be confused, aging (I bought my guerlain the day prior to my 40th birthday), but still with an oily t zone, and with patchy dry spots on my cheeks likely from the dry air in my medical work environment.  One of the things she said to me was- make it about a ritual for you, and dont leave it until your going to fall asleep.  I walked out with the orchidee imperiele gel cream, eye and lip cream and white/brightenining serum.  It was a birthday gift to myself.  And now every night I sit down for 15 minutes and wash my face and slowly carry through the ritual.  a ritual of energy expended and renewed.  Breathing in the soft smell of the orchids.  Im still using a cleanser and exfoliator from another line given how much I spent, but I have seen substantial change in my face in the 3 weeks since.  

so thats my story, and I would love to share a discussion with other lovers of Guerlain, especially as we eagerly anticipate the 2015 holiday collection.

my SDM told me that they would release it this week.  I just called and they sold out within an hour.  Yikes!

Soooooooo I've never bought any of Guerlain's lipsticks before because of the price....

...but I came across the holiday Rouge G today at SDM. And I got it.

I'm in trouble.

Hey...you got the holiday maxi velvet, didn't you? I'm on the fence about it....what do you think of it? Is it sticky? Megan reviewed it and said it was a bit lip glossy (tacky) but the color is so nice!

Just saw this!  The color is gorgeous.  I like the color of the maxi velvet better than the rouge G but they're both so wearable...in some ways so much more practical than another holiday red.  I did videos for each but won't put them here.  But if anyone wants to see them on me I'll send the video links in a PM.

Hahaha, I know you're honest, that's the thing! 😉 I wouldn't have gotten it if you had said anything negative about it, but watching your vid made me want it more, haha.

I haven't jumped into the TF pool....yet....lol.

Oh...and...you'll love the maxi velvet.  Lucky to find one...they sold out in a flash!

I know, I think it's because for some reason the Guerlain counter at my SDM is somewhat out of the way in my neck of the woods. That being said, when I went there this morning, the Meteorites had already sold out, the Rouge Gs are gone, the compact is gone and now the maxi velvet is gone too. There's one of the clear lipglosses left, the nailpolish....I'm not sure what else is in the collection.

But yes, I'm lucky to find one! 🙂

I know I am enabling you, but check out in Murale.If you points you can redeem later during their promo which happens too often these days. They had 10 of each item last friday and they allow holds. Ask for Mike(manager), he put meteorites for couple of days for me and i never saw him in store whenever I went to pick up!

You know, what I'm going to say next is probably heresy on BT 😉 , but I actually didn't like the holiday Meteorites as much once I saw them in person. I probably won't get them. I like the star shaped perles but the container itself didn't "wow" me enough to justify the price.

Thanks though, dioradict. Oddly enough I've never visited a Murale, I've only passed by the one at Oakridge. Worth visiting?

choco - i go there mostly for redemption.  you like chanel,ysl,nars,guerlain,bobbi brown then yes worth it.Service is meh mostly but okay.....
