no heat no styling anyone??

i really need advice!!

i rarely apply heat to my hair or ‘style’ it because one; i’m afraid to cause damage and two; i don’t really know how to properly heat style my hair. (i do looove a good blowout though!)

for years and years my hair routine goes by:

• washing every two three days with shampoo + conditioner—i’ve tried a few masks and pre treatments but haven’t been impressed enough too stick to any religiously
• spraying a detangler/leave-in conditioner before combing damp hair
• applying a serum/hair oil before allowing it to air dry

i’ve tested many products. the weird thing is i’ll order something new, be impressed/in love with the results the first few times, then it’s almost as if it stops working once i try to commit and the cloak falls. my latest oil was Virtue Hydrating Healing Hair Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL which i did love at first, but it stopped concealing my frizzy hair after a few weeks. i’ve been trying to find a new oil/serum without much luck. thinking about incorporating an air dry cream, and maybe trying Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil 1.7 oz / 50 mL but am skeptical with all the incentive reviews…

i’d appreciate ANY air dry (or styling for beginners) tips/advice and/or product recommendations! my hair used to be pretty curly but nothing holds anymore. some strands are straight and some wavy, it’s just inconsistent and frizzy imo.

@rushelllynn Your hair sounds a lot like mine. I use the LOC method for airdrying:  leave-in conditioner, oil, cream. The leave-in conditioner is water-based, and the oil helps lock-in the moisture and smooth the cuticle to reduce frizz. The cream (or it can be a gel or cream-gel) provides hold for your style.

Products I use or have used (I tend to switch-up products) with good results include:

Leave-in:  #Bumble and bumble Save the Day Protective Hair Repair Fluid 3.2 oz/ 95 mL , Briogeo Farewell Frizz™ Rosarco Milk Leave-In Conditioner 5 oz/ 148 mL , Crown Affair The Mini Leave-In Conditioner Cream for Hydrated Hair 1.7 oz / 50 ml .

Oil:  Kérastase Elixir Ultime Refillable Hydrating Hair Oil , #Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil (link won't work), Verb Ghost Weightless Oil to Fight Frizz and Enhance Shine , shu uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Hair Oil , Crown Affair The Hair Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL .

Cream/gel:  Bumble and bumble Don’t Blow It Fine Air-Dry Cream 5 oz/ 150 mL 

I have tried the Living Proof No Frizz Vanishing Oil 1.7 oz / 50 mL . It was too heavy for me, but your hair might be thicker or more dense than mine, even when used alone.

Because I am using three different products, I tend to choose lighter products (e.g., those advertised for fine hair).
