looking for new hair tool suggestions

I want to try a straightening heated brush and a new curling wand or beach waves etc but there are so many out there and they are so expensive. anyone have any recommendations?

I picked up the AMIKA - Smooth Criminal Polished Perfection Gift Setsince it was on sale with all the goodies included. I have pretty thick, wavy to curly hair. I've never used a straightening brush before, but I really like it so far. I like that is has a decent temperature range for harder to straighten hair. The controls are right where you hold it, but I didn't find it too hard to deal with. If you have finer hair, the "bristles" might be too big and stiff to grab on to your hair, but it works really well with mine.
