@Lovergirl03 thats a great question. Pls tag me, too. I can say that Nioxin is considered the best, but it led to problems for me. I lost hair along the hairline do to wearing a foam face shield during the pandemic. I've been using Act+Acre 2% Stem Cell H2-Grow Complex™ Scalp Serum for Hair Growth 2.2 oz / 65 ml . It's gentle but I haven't noticed anything.

YES!!! No doubt that Olaplex 3 caused my hair to start dropping like crazy. After every my Wet Brush was full. My pillow would be covered. Every time I brushed my hair I would notice significant loss. I had a thyroid panel done and even added supplements and hormones with no success. As I racked my brain for the cause I realized the only change I had made to my hair care routine was to use the Olaplex 3 on the ends of my hair. The irony is that my hair wasn’t particularly damaged I was just using it for prevention. As soon as I stopped using it my hair loss returned to normal. And it wasn’t until I figured out what was going on that I searched online and found so many postings regarding the connection between hair and Olaplex products.

Hi! That’s actually common, your scalp must be dry (dandruff) and overcompensating by producing more oil/sebum (greasy). You need to focus on learning to balance your hair washing schedule & scalp health I just discovered Pro Youth Hair and Scalp Mask by coco and eve (not sold at Sephora 😞 and it’s been a real lifesaver!!! You can also try JVN Complete Pre-Wash Scalp & Hair Strengthening Treatment Oil 1.7 oz/ 50 mL (I know it’s scary using an oil on greasy hair, but try it. Double shampoo well!)Finding Some sort of hydrating scalp product is keyyyDouble cleanse your hair if it’s extra dirty/full of productMassage shampoo in well in circular motions, with pads of your finger tips Avoid showering with hot water (drying) Hair Wash frequency: do what works for you. Experiment. I used to try and stretch to 4 days but I find that every 2-3 days works for me. I don’t like to wait until it’s super dirty, or wash too early too often You can also consider a dandruff drugstore shampoo I’ve also heard good things about Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo 12 oz / 354 ml Best of luck! 🫶🏽

Personally I don’t like either for shampoo/conditioner but I did use Olaplex no. 0 and 3 for years (in addition to salon treatment when I got my haircut) with excellent results. I still use the no. 9 serum and no. 7 hair oil from them today. Kerastase seems more well-liked if you are able to find the right line for your hair. I think their products are just so over-scented and was not able to find a line that I absolutely loved for the price. They all do see to be high quality and feel more luxurious than Olaplex, though. Ultimately I think different products work for different people, so you should maybe try them both out for a month or so and see what works best for you!

If it’s working well for you, use it. I used Olaplex for years (both in-salon treatment and at home) and never had any adverse reaction or hair loss. That being said, I never used their shampoo & conditioner, just number 0 & 3 treatment, and styling products (number 9 and the oil, which I still use today). I have since moved on from Olaplex to K18 and now am about to try the L’Oréal professional molecular repair line. My only reason for switching is that new products come out all the time and I found K18 to be more convenient to use at home (just skip conditioner and use as a leave-in). I’m hoping the L’Oréal version will be even better since it is never and has a lot of R&D behind it. For reference, this is my hair. I hope this helps!

Can you elaborate a bit on your experience in the industry and how you know this? I am asking because I have virgin hair (not damaged by bleach) that I heat style 3x/month max. I use bond repair products because I figure it can’t hurt to make my hair stronger, even from minimal mechanical/heat damage. I have been using these products for years. First Olaplex, then K18, and now L’Oréal professional molecular repair. I do both in-salon professional treatments in addition to using the line at home. My only reason for switching products 3 times is that new things have come out that I find more convenient and easy to use at home. I am just curious to hear your thoughts on my situation. I don’t have severely damaged hair so I don’t really need to use these types of products but have seen nothing but improvement from doing so. I just don’t understand why some people are having such bad experiences with these same products… I always kind of assumed they were also over-bleaching or something which is what actually caused the damage but that doesn’t seem to be the case with this woman.
