White hair....at which age it start to grow? ๐Ÿฆจ๐Ÿค

Like a true skunk, I'm starting to see some white hair on my head. Not grey, white like the snow. I'm 28, and in my family, people don't have hair issues. My grandparents were redheads (I also have some red reflections in my hair) and most of my family members start to have grey/white hair issues very old. I have a stressful life, so maybe that's why. It's not genetic. I don't want to color my hair, I like a more natural approach with skincare/bodycare. For now, I'm plucking it off with tweezers.

I'm a natural redhead and I have had silver hair since I was a baby. It has not "gone grey" yet, but I still have silver strands in my hair. It might just be a redhead thing, since you've got the gene for it. Especially if it's only here and there...

@Skunk12puzzola  I started going grey at age 15 with random strands here and there. I used to dye my hair, though not specifically to cover grey; I wanted to cover all my hair with fun colors. I miss having blue violet hair, but I stopped dying it sometime in my 30s when I began to embrace my grey. I love my grey. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you do wanna mask your grey/white strands, you could try chalk dying them. Might also consider asking a doctor about it since it doesn't seem to be geneticโ€”especially if you notice any bald patches. Sometimes greying + balding are symptoms of a health issue. I doubt it's common though. I mean, I didn't have an underlying health issue (aside from anxiety-related stress) causing my hair to lose pigment at age 15.

Be careful about plucking hair from your scalp. You can permanently damage the hair follicle that way, and then hair won't grow from that spot again. You know how some people permanently lose hair along the hairline after keeping their hair up in tight ponytails, buns, or braids all the time? That constant tension on their strands damages the follicles to the point where the hair never regrows. Years ago, a doctor scolded me for frequently wearing silk scarves as tight headbands near my hairline for that very reason. Frequent plucking causes similar trauma. This is also how some people permanently damaged their eyebrows: all that 1990s overplucking. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

@WinglessOne oh!! thanks for the overplucking tip!! I will stop doing it haha. I don't have bald spots, but since 2015, I lost so much hair (due to a family stressful situation) and now I can see some white ones. Of course, I can't keep plucking them because one day, I will be bald for sure if I continue ๐Ÿ˜‚
