Where do you apply hair masks?

I was using Living Proof's 'Restore Mask Treatment' and it says apply from roots to ends - aren't hair masks like conditioners on steroids? Wouldn't applying a hair mask on my roots make it oily?

Let me know if you've ever had experience with this!

Where do you apply hair masks?

It honestly really depends on the hair mask. I usually follow the instructions for the first use on them and then go from there on deciding how to apply them. I have used that particular hair mask a few times and I did apply it roots to ends and had no problem with greasy hair.

@IfeellikeYeezus,

I usually apply mine from the middle of my head to the ends. I have oily roots and I always stay away from putting it on my roots. I start from the middle, because I have long layers and they tend to look really dry.

@IfeellikeYeezus,

Totally! Right now my favorite is the Kiehl's Since 1851 Sunflower Color Preserving Deep Recovery Pak. It smells amazing (like peaches) and it has saved my bleached hair. It is always sold out at my local Sephora store!

Re: Where do you apply hair masks?

I've used this mask @IfeellikeYeezus, and applied it to my whole head.  I found it rinsed just fine and didn't feel greasy.  Frankly, I'm not sure it did much more than my regular conditioner though.  My hair is color treated, but not overly dry to start with.  I'd check some product reviews to see if other people, maybe with more damaged hair,  felt it was worth the cost.  It's not bad, but I doubt I'd repurchase it.
