Recommendations for oily hair?

pls help! Any suggestions for limp hair that appears oily? I try to wash every other day, but I think my daily workouts are causing excess oil.

RE: Recommendations for oily hair?

I have good luck with texturizing sprays instead of dry shampoos since most are kind of like dry shampoo combos. I’ve liked they OUAI texturizing dry texturing spray when my hair is a little oily and I put it in a little topknot! My hair just doesn’t agree with straight up dry shampoo (or I’m doing it wrong, who knows) Outside of hair products, I saw the biggest difference in my oily hair when I ate less sugar and my diet was a bit more balanced — I know that’s a lame answer, but wanted to offer it up just in case, coming from an oily hair empathizer!

Hi! I used to have the same problem. It is really just a matter of trying to find the right shampoo and having a trust dry shampoo. Right now I’m currently using Doves Oxygen Moisture shampoo and conditioner and that works really well for me (I found that it gives a lot of volume but doesn’t appear frizzy) but I had to try a lot of different shampoos and conditioners until I found one that works for me!

I have heard good reviews for Dove products, thx I will try that!

@maziarzl a good dry shampoo should be able to take care of your oily roots. My personal favorites are: LIVING PROOF - Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo 6.3 oz/ 288 mL amika Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo 5.3 oz / 189 mL BUMBLE AND BUMBLE - Prêt-à-Powder Tres Invisible Dry Shampoo Mini

Spritz your roots before you style your hair and make sure you work it in with your hands. Dry shampoo not only soaks up the unwanted oil, it also helps add some volume as well!

Thank you, this is a great suggestion!

Re: Recommendations for oily hair?

What are you using for shampoo? That could be an issue. Do you do anything after your workouts like a dry shampoo? It might help, might also mean you can also go longer without washing your hair. Too much washing can cause issues.

RE: Re: Recommendations for oily hair?

Hi there, I use Herbal Essences when I wash, or Amica dry shampoo after working out. I think you are right, maybe over-washing is the issue!
