Quality difference between red and pink airwrap

My red airwrap has been really scratched and I wasn’t able to find out why. I recently returned it after 3 months for pink and the quality difference is astonishing. I was wondering how this could be? It’s just the colored parts of the airwrap that easily scratch on the red. I saw a similar review, the top of my brush heads are so extremely scratched.
