PROM! Hair growth help!

Hi!! So, long story short, my boyfriend and I broke up in September and I immediately cut 4 1/2 inches off of my hair. I also got layers, which I NEVER do. Anyways, I’ve hated my hair since and I’d love for it to be as long as possible in time for my prom in March to help make the hairstyle I’m going for look good. If anyone knows some tricks that will help it grow I’d love your help! Thanks!

Hi @Ellie151 , hairstylist here. @Asche is correct, your hair has 3 growth stages. You cannot speed them up no matter what anyone tells you, sorry. 
Perhaps you should look at clip in extensions? They are relatively inexpensive and very low commitment for one night.

If you are already deficient in B vitamins taking them can help. No heat styling and a good shampoo and conditioner should stop breakage. Good luck.

@Ellie151 There really is no way to make hair grow faster. The most it typically grows in a month is half an inch. You can maximize growth by eating healthy and exercising, and also minimizing damage and breakage to the length of your hair. Depending on how much longer you are hoping to grow your hair in time for prom, extensions might be the way to go.
