Organic conditioner recommendations?

I'm E Asian with long, thick, straight and untreated black hair. I need a lot of moisture for my hair. I'm currently using Redken's Smooth Down conditioner - it's excellent and I love it, but I'm looking for an organic or paraben free product to replace it with. I have tried Nature's Gate Jojobja conditioner and it wasn't nearly as moisturizing enough; I had to use 3 times the product! Would love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion!

My hair is naturally VERY dry as well.   I love the Phyto hair products.  They are all natural and really work!

I love the oil treatment suggestion and I'll give it a try! This might sound strange, but I've used mayonnaise the same way and it does pack in moisture but of course the smell isn't the greatest. And thanks for the Kerastase tip! The Redken smooth down line has a great hair conditioning treatment as well that is amazing, perhaps it might work well for you too... Thanks for the tips!

Hello, I'm of Filipino descent, I have really thick, wavy dark brown hair that I've colored numerous times. About 2 months ago, at the suggestion of my new hair stylist, I started doing weekly treatments of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. You can buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil at any Organic market or an Asian grocery. Choose the Extra Virgin over the regular Coconut Oil because it has retained the essential oils and stuff that were processed out of the regular Coconut oil product. Once a week I do this deep conditioning treatment, basically you slather your hair in the Extra Virgin coconut oil beginning at the tips and using sparingly at the roots. Then you put a shower cap on and leave it anywhere from 1 hour to overnight, for best results leave it on longer. It has seriously rehabbed my hair. I flat iron my hair 3 times a week so I had a ton of split ends and dryness, plus I color my hair every 2 months. This treatment has greatly improved the condition of my hair.

Another alternative is to buy Kerastase Nutritive Masque, the orange one. This product isn't organic, and if your hair is highly damaged, a non-organic product may be your best option and this product does work. Its a bit pricey, but you only need to use it once a week as a deep conditioning treatment. Its extremely hydrating and it calms the frizz. I used it over the summer and it kept my hair looking phenomenal! I had lightened my hair from a dark chocolatey brown to a dark blond over the summer. So I needed something that protected my damaged, fragile hair and Kerastase saved it. You can buy it at some salons and beauty supplies or Target or online on Amazon.
