Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I have been wearing my hair natural for 5 years, started with a big chop 5 years ago, wore it in short cropped fro now I love my starter locs. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I love wearing my hair natural too! One thing I just ran into is the Goody Modern Updo pin! It is only about $6 and you can buy it just about anywhere. I just twist my hair into a bun and stick in the pin. I don't know how but it magically gives me a perfect french twist. I don't have to add any product to it or straighten my frizz because once it's up, it stays! I love it 🙂

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I too wore my hair natural all the time but I wanted a change. I would definitely recommend any Bumble and Bumble product. My favourite would probably be their B & B straight but everything is great. I like to wear my hair long and straight (complements a more oval shaped face) with short side bangs but for a more round shaped face you should go for hair up to the base of your head with front bangs, side bangs or even no bangs at all. Hope this helps!

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I like to use JessiCurl Rich products.  No sulfate, no silicones.. healthy hair.  I never blow dry or straighten my hair, it only makes it worse.  I just leave it how it is and don't fight with it.  Another thing is that I cut it every 6 weeks.

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I wear my hair natural almost always. I just started doing this to my hair! I use biolage hydratherapie shampoo and conditioner every third day, let it dry in a hair towel for 1/2 hour. I then take it out and apply biolage daily tonic. (it fills in the pores in your hair and makes it super shiny soft and detangled!) Then I apply 1 squirt of macadamia oil and comb and part my hair. Then I let it dry. The macadamia oil helps it dry super speedy! Next, I take half a pump more of the macadamia oil and apply as a shine serum. (I have a lot of long hair, and if you don't, 1 and 1/2 pumps of oil may make your hair appear greasy) After this, I brush my hair out with a round boar bristle brush. Next I spritz a very small amount of hairspray into a section of my hair  and use a round brush to roll my hair into a velcro roller- style look and once it is rolled up, I spritz a little more hairspray on it and let it sit for about 5-10 seconds. I repeat to my entire head of hair, and again, finish with a light spitz of hairspray. (Yes, I know I use a lot of hairspray, But I've got A LOT of hair!) I do the styling every day unless I braid it or something.  I  only wash my hair every 3 or so days though. I have normal to dry straight blond hair in case you were wondering. By the way this style won't completely change the look of your hair, it will just give it a more polished, volumized look without any damage! Hope this helps : D

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

My favorite style is stick straight, because it will always be in fashion!!  However I like to change it up a bit.  My hair is naturally wavy/curly so I do like to wear it that way as well.

Favorite products

Shampoo and Conditioners:  I switch back and forth!  I love Sebastian Penetrait and Joico Moisture Recovery.

Styling Products:  Biosilk miracle 17 leave in or it's a 10 leave in.  For straight hair:  After Party TIGI.  For Curly Hair:  Its a 10 Miracle styling cream (can be used straight too).  Hairspray, TIGI Masterpiece (light flexible hold), Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Ginger (for Up Dos) or Chi Volume ( for...well...volume).  Serums:  Chi Pearl Complex and Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Ginger.  Shine:  Paul Mitchell The Shine.

Tools:  Spornette Feel Good Brush and the Paul Mitchell detangling comb.

Applainces:  GHD ... the best flat iron I have EVER used!... and Solano dryer.

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I love wearing my natural hair curly. I never flat iron it and only blow dry w/a diffuser when absolutely necessary. I prefer it to air dry.

How I apply products makes all the different- I apply product section by section using the Ouidad "rake & shake" method (u can see videos of how on the ouidad site, its super easy)

Products I swear by:

Ouidads line- especially the deep treatment. doing this 2x a month w/heat keeps my curls nice, bouncy and oh so soft!!

Carol's Daughter- the curl definer milk is great! it keeps my hair soft & shiny!

I also use a line of products called CURLS from curls.biz They have no mineral oil, sulfates, parabens, silicones or anything bad and are made with all organic ingredients. Really great stuff for natural hair and it all smells amazing! The cashmere curls from them is my fave

I also really like the ojon leave in treatment for blondes. It helped repiar years of damage and keeps my blonde bright!

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I have really long hair and a lot of it, plus I use to bleach it (I now color it red) and it caused a lot of damage to my hair. These are my all time favorite products that I absolutely swear by and can always go to:

-WEN Cleansing Conditioner: I started using this a while back and it really is an awesome product to wash my hair with.

-Tigi S Factor Shampoo and Conditioner: This is a shampoo and conditioner that I use when I use a leave in treatment overnight, I have to use a shampoo and conditioner to get all of the leave in product out.. My WEN cleansing Conditioner isn't strong enough for that! But this is an awesome shampoo and conditioner and it smells DELICIOUS (it smells like jolly ranchers to me!)

-Ojon Restorative Treatment:This stuff is just hands down amazing. I have been using it for years and it really works. It has transformed my very dry, dehydrated, damaged, straw like hair in to amazing gorgeous hair. Amazing product.

-Argan/Moroccan Oil: I have been using this for a while and it is one product I put in my hair after I get out of the shower, every single time. Its an awesome product and I LOVE what it does for my hair. (Currently I am using Josie Maran's 100% Pure Argan Oil... Amazing product!)

-Unite 7 Seconds Conditioner Leave in Detangler: This is the only detangler that I continue to buy and absolutely LOVE. It works great, makes my hair feel great and is just an awesome product. I use this every time I wash my hair... along with the Argan Oil and not only does this product detangle my hair but it locks in my color, has UV protection and really smoothes out my hair.

As for hair styles, 99% of the time I wear my hair down and its always wavy. To be honest I rarely (if ever) blow dry my hair or straighten it because it just takes to long and I hate it. I'm fortunate enough to be able to wash my hair at night, let it dry overnight and wake up to my hair looking great.

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

Zerran Equalizer Leave In or Rinse Detangler. Seriously the best thing to happen to my hair.  I put it on immediately after washing/conditioning my hair, and just let it air dry. I have extremely tight frizzy curls, and as long as I use this and don't touch my hair, it's perfect. I've used this on friends with straight hair, african american hair, wavy hair, thin hair...doesn't matter what hair type you have! It works wonders.

(Also, it's paraben free, safe for chemically treated hair, and smells amazing)

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

i wear my hair natural most days. my hair is naturally straight with a hint of wave but when i blow dry my hair (which is what i do most days. i dont really count it as styling) it becomes very straight and soft. before i dry it i use a leave in conditioner made with coconut milk which makes my hair super shiney and i think it makes my blond look more blond. if that makes sence :). Then i put in another leave in conditioner that protects against heat damage. hbu?

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

I usually just wear my hair down if I want a natural look. My favorite product to make my hair look naturally silky and shiny and feel completely soft is Macadamia Natural Oil "Healing Oil Treatment." It's totally weightless, smells great and gives me shiny, beautiful hair that looks completely natural. I never wear my hair down without it! I wish Sephora would carry it--as it is, I have to buy it on Ulta.

Re: Natural hair. What are your favorite products and your favorite style?

My best friend has natural hair and these are some of the products she swears by:

Ojon restorative treatment

Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding and Buttercreme

She also says that some of the deep conditioning products from Pantene Pro-V are very good and add a lot of softeness/shine to her hair so don't rule them out!

Ones I suggest:

Kiehl's Argan OIl Hair treatment

Kerastase Masqueintense for Thick Hair

Phytokarite Ultra nourishing mask : http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P21256&categoryId=B70

Hope that helps!
